The time is upon us again to begin the selection process for the Ontario Men’s and Women’s Teams for the 2008 Canadian National Floorball Championships in Calgary. AB. February 16-17. 2008. Last year in Montreal the Women took home the Gold medal while the Men won the plate medal losing a change state decision to Quebec in the Final. This year’s competition looks to be much stronger from all provinces and we are calling on all of the best players in Ontario to come together and make a strong showing in Calgary. This will also be the final come about for eligible players to showcase themselves for the 2008 Canadian Men’s National Team who will be playing in Slovakia at the end of April. Open Tryouts have been arranged for anyone interested in a lay on both the Men’s and Women’s teams. 1. Any active members of the OFUF (Toronto Floorball unify players. Mississauga pass Floorball League Players. The fifth annual East glide Tournament is underway and the Floorball Club of Toronto the only entry from Ontario has made it to the semi-finals. This morning. Am Donnerstag Abend (Spielbeginn: 19:15 Uhr) trifft der HC Rychenberg Winterthur in der Sporthalle Oberseen auf den B-Ligisten Kloten-Bülach Jets. Für die beiden Kantonsrivalen ist es ein Vorbereitungsspiel für die in knapp zwei Wochen beginnende Meisterschaft und zugleich die Möglichkeit mit ihrem Sport einen Beitrag für benachteiligte Kinder zu leisten. Der Erlös des Benefizspiels (Eintritt für Erwachsene Fr. 10.- für Kinder 5.-) kommt dem Verein «Unihockey für Strassenkinder» zu Gute. Die karitative Organisation wurde in der Schweiz gegründet und hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht. Kindern und Jugendlichen in Schwellenländern eine sinnvolle Freizeitbeschäftigung zu bieten sie von der Strasse fernzuhalten und ihre Lebensqualität nachhaltig zu verbessern. Zum Zwecke der Suchtprophylaxe und zur Integration von sozial gefährdeten und geschädigten Kindern und Jugendlichen betreibt «Unihockey für Strassenkinder» deshalb in Ländern der Dritten beat Sportförderung. Seine Maturitätsarbeit verfasst er zum Thema «Soziale Arbeit mit Kindern und Jugendlichen in 3.-Welt-Ländern anhand des Vereins Unihockey für Strassenkinder». Ziel dieser Arbeit und des Benefizspiels sei die finanzielle Unterstützung und die Bekanntmachung des Vereins. Patroniert wird das Kantonalderby von Ursula Dolski. Die CVP-Gemeinderätin war bis vor gut einem Jahr mit Erfolg Präsidentin des HC Rychenberg und versucht inzwischen als Vorstandsmitglied des «Dachverbandes Winterthurer Sportler» den hiesigen feature zu fördern. Am Dienstag. 18. September 2007 findet um 10.30 Uhr am Hauptsitz der Mobiliar in Bern die erste vorsaisonale Pressekonferenz von Swiss Unihockey statt. Dabei werden die Medien erstmals aus erster transfer vor Saisonbeginn über die kommende Spielzeit informiert. Von Seiten der Clubs der Swiss Mobiliar unify sind sowohl SpielerInnen wie auch Vereinsvertreter vor Ort. Moderiert wird die Veranstaltung von "SF-Sportfrau" Steffi Buchli und anlässlich einer Podiumsdiskussion werden Nationaltrainer Peter Düggeli. WM-Topscorer Adrian Zimmermann. Damen-Nati Captain Simone Berner. Unihockey Tigers Präsident Ruedi Zesiger und Swiss Unihockey Vizepräsident Thomas Gilardi Auskünfte über die kommende Spielzeit und den Unihockeysport im Allgemeinen erteilen. Weiter werden die neuen Dresses und Torhütermasken der Nationalteams sowie die ersten Unihockey-Gadgets der Mobiliar präsentiert. Begleitet wird das ganze von einem zweistündigen Side-Event für die Mitarbeitenden der Mobiliar. Swiss Mobiliar League SpielerInnen werden auf einem eigens angelegten Spielfeld ihr Können demonstrieren und auch die Mitarbeitenden können sich im Umgang mit Stock und roll versuchen. Die Veranstaltung wird durch einen Adidas-Speedshooting-Contest sowie Einlagen von Interhockey-AirhooKING Daniel Schatt abgerundet.
