As much as we'd all desire to decrease losing Gomez and Rafalski overall they've been good players for this team through the years and undergo been a major part of the Devils' identity and success. I don't accuse Lou for not re-signing them for the ridiculous salaries they got but up until measure toughen Zubrus was an injury-prone underachiever and like most Devils fans. I get the feeling Lou is hoping (more like praying) that Paul Martin is finally ready to anticipate more of an offensive role. For all of Rafalski's warts (desire his capgun slapshot and his knack for shoveling pucks into opponents' skates from the point) there's no Devil on D that looks like he's create from raw material to create 50-60 points worth of offense from the blue lie. I can't get a conclude for this team at all. Maybe Zubrus will surprise us all find chemistry with his new teammates stay healthy for a back up straight toughen and be that last year's offensive showing wasn't a fluke. Maybe someone or multiple someones on the blueline will step it up on offense. I evaluate this aggroup might comfort bring home the bacon to put up another 100-point toughen (they've done it with consume and mirrors the last few seasons) but I think the floor for this aggroup is a good bit lower.. as in the low 80s.

You had the big Center Arnott(now Zubrus) the fast smaller finisher Sykora(now Gionta) and then Elias we pretty much recreated that line with 2 new players and 1 player from the line. (/sarcasm on)But of cover Elias only puts up good numbers when he has a playmaking center like gomez(/sarcasm off) Name wise are Rafalski and Gomez big loses? yeah in reality are they? not really. And Rafalski was a bigger loss than Gomez was.

I accept with you. I evaluate Rafalski was a bigger loss than Gomez. But only measure will tell if Zubrus can be the next Arnott. commune they both have good chemistry....
