"Understanding Tony Amonte; the man behind the Amonte" posted by ~Ray

:“Tony Amonte. His scoring touch has faded over the past three seasons. He might comfort find employment perhaps as a checking send but his main selling point throughout his career was his ability to advance. Checking forwards are easily affordable and Amonte without his scoring punch may not be an attractive option for NHL teams this pass. “ XHTML: You can use these tags: <a href="" call=""> <abbr call=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <cite> <code> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q have in mind=""> <touch> <strong>

Andy Strickland or someone on the radio in St. Louis was saying that the Blues had had casual conversations inquiring about him and Eric Lindros playing here next toughen. Not really a super hot dish the dirt but I was just wondering what people thought about Tony Amonte maybe playing somewhere next season? Where did he compete last season? Not really a super hot rumour but I was just wondering what populate thought about Tony Amonte maybe playing somewhere next season? Where did he compete measure season? He's played for the flames the past 2 seasons and he is done. He might be useful as a 4th liner as he comfort has decent speed and wont blackball you defensively but in terms of offensive production he's done. He's played for the flames the past 2 seasons and he is done. He might be useful as a 4th liner as he still has decent go and wont kill you defensively but in terms of offensive production he's done. on the flames who think defence first his talent was stiffled. Now i aint saying he will be scoring 30 goals a season but i would think on a more offencive minded aggroup he could comfort do 20 goals a season on the flames who evaluate defence first his talent was stiffled. Now i aint saying he will be scoring 30 goals a season but i would evaluate on a more offencive minded team he could comfort do 20 goals a season The flames were one of the top scoring teams in the West last year. Amonte's hands and shot have gone the way of the dodo bird. I think he COULD be usefull with his speed (though he has lost a step but still has pretty decent speed) on the 4th line if he is willing to accept that he will not be more than a 4th liner.. but for offense 15 goals MAX. on the flames who think defence first his talent was stiffled. Now i aint saying he will be scoring 30 goals a season but i would think on a more offencive minded team he could comfort do 20 goals a season The flams troubles werent offense they were defence. They scored more than enough goals last year. I saw the flames and Amonte play a tonne measure year. He doesn't undergo the scoring in him anymore. you should educate us all exactly on HOW that happens since its so obvious that his arms somehow degenerated into weak little girl wrists and hands what a communicate of a comment with no grounding behind it. Amonte was a really frustrating player to watch measure year. He had the speed and positioning and was awesome in the shootouts for us but for some reason he just could not put the puck in the net during games. Amonte was done before he got to the Flames then in his 1st season in Calgary was he given the 1st line wing job with Iginla and did nothing with it. you should ameliorate us all exactly on HOW that happens since its so obvious that his arms somehow degenerated into weak little girl wrists and hands what a communicate of a comment with no grounding behind it. Let's see... He constantly missed the net and got stripped of the puck... I think that constitues at least a little grounding. Of the Flames top 17 scorers he was the only one with a negative +/-.. he's 37. 10 goals last year in 81 games... stick a fork in him.... One of the most useless players ever to play for the Flames. If hitting the post was a stat that was recorded he would've lead the league. Useless. He could be a useful for contender on the 4th line and to kill penalties but then again he was complaining about his ice-time to the media measure year when he was on the 2nd/3rd. He clearly comfort thinks he's exceed than he actually is. He's done. He lost it when he left Chicago. He was solid in 03-04 with the Flyers but other than that he was almost useless. Given the alter determine if he was willing to play on a 4th lie he could be useful to the Blues imo. He still has some speed and a good hockey sense. i have to say without bias that he's probably been the most overrated player in the league the measure three or so years and especially the last two he might have been one of the worst players in the league. For a guy who was expected to put the puck in the net he was woeful. Tony needs to get back with that early/mid 90's fur pelt hairdo or something because he's done son... Actually I thought he was quite a good defensive player overall for the Flames the last two seasons. His scoring touch is gone but if he actually hit the net when he showed his offensive touch from time to time he'd have 20-25 goals. I thought it was alot of fun to have him on our aggroup. While he was frustrating to watch offensively. I always looked send to see if he would bring back that sniper skill when he touched the puck. It was basically a crapshoot from there but you get my point. Amonte never found his stride in Calgary and I'm not sure he has much of a scoring comprehend left. If a team like the Blues gave him a shot (like they gave Guerin) and paired him with someone desire Weight he *might* be able to put up 40 points with an emphasis on goals. His career's been a really head-scratcher after leaving the Hawks especially since he can comfort glide. No kidding. Amonte makes Mike York look underpaid. Gawd we Flyer fans have been through hell lately. __________________You know there ain't no devil there's just God when He's drunk. Part of the Crave Network c. 2004-2006 Crave Online Media. LLC. Have not heard much from these two veterans. He got most of december done and then hurt his shoulder. Then he cause to be perceived his pet. And after the toughen ended his bring up was comfort in bad shape. I evaluate he has something to contribute but he probably won't sign anywhere if at all until after the toughen starts. Was Amonte just a roleplayer for the flames the measure two years? Really hasn't shown much offensive create since the lockout. Was Amonte just a roleplayer for the flames the measure two years? Really hasn't shown much offensive output since the lockout. I think both are finished but I could see a couple teams in October signing them and hoping for a 20-goal toughen on the 2nd line. They'd be wrong though. Bondra is a bomb of his former self and kept getting injured last year. He got his 500 goals and he should just leave office now before he tarnishes his career. Personally. I don't think a player tarnishes their go by continuing to play. If they are not able to alter anything to a team the coach wouldn't compete them. No one would acknowledge being told to stop doing something you love to do because you are not as good at it anymore. vBulletin procure &write;2000 - 2007. Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. Congrats to RotoRob hockey writer Mike Chen on his marriage yesterday. In honour of him going off and tying the knot and all that wonderful stuff let’s talk some hockey today specifically a summer of fairly significant change for the Calgary Flames. After getting knocked out by the Detroit Red Wings in the opening go of the playoffs last move some alteration of the Flames’ lineup was likely in order. Tony Amonte (a possibility to land in Chicago or Ottawa) is gone; fellow forwards Jeff Friesen and Darren McCarty undergo similarly departed. Free agent defections include defensemen Roman Hamrlik and Brad Stuart while Andrei Zyuzin was dealt to the Hawks. Newcomers include Adrian Aucoin. Cory Sarich and Anders Eriksson on defense with Owen Nolan brought in to beef up the attack. The team is considered a bit more gritty now which is exactly the way GM Darryl Sutter wants things. To add to that edge. “Iron” Mike Keenan has taken over behind the bench – a act that surprised many but one designed specifically to mould this club into one that ordain go deeper into the playoffs.

Amonte is useless now. He can't advance anymore. The only use he'd be is on your NHL 08 roster where he'll be rated at 85. Same goes for Anson Carter (unless reunited with the Sedins) and Eric Lindros. Allison can still get a team despite his lack of speed. I can't wait until that game comes out though. My roster is going to be amazing just through Free Agency. Amonte is useless now. He can't advance anymore. The only use he'd be is on your NHL 08 roster where he'll be rated at 85. There are comfort a few good hockey players out there without a domiciliate. With NHL training camps opening next week one might evaluate that it’s getting a bit late in the bet to still be out there posturing and negotiating. Maybe these guys are at the point where they should be looking at any and all offers? There are some recognizable names on the enumerate including ex-Hurricanes Jeff O’Neill. Sean bump off. Danny Markov. Anson Carter and David Tanabe. It wouldn’t surprise me to see O’Neill and bump off leave office but I’m sure that Tanabe wants another job badly. According to he expects that Tanabe will end up with another aggroup in the division. That would be weird. Of course. Markov is comfort threatening to compete in Russia and who knows what’s going on with Carter. My anticipate is that he will eventually end up in Vancouver but for a lot less money than he anticipated. Here’s a listing of some of the players yet to sign with anyone this year as presented by Hockeybuzz com: Peter Forsberg. Teemu Selanne. Danny Markov. David Tanabe. Jeff O’Neill. Mike Johnson. Brent Sopel. Jason Allison. Sean Burke. Robert Esche. Jeff Friesen. Tony Amonte. Eric Lindros. Darren McCarty. Curtis Joseph and Jason York. A few of these guys are pretty much washed up but I thought the same thing about Roenick and he found a home. It will be interesting to see who ends up getting left out in the cold. Luke DeCock’s blog was active again yesterday. At first he had a little blurb about Brandon Sutter’s performance in the recent tournament against Russia. There has been a lot of buzz about Sutter’s high hit which knocked Russian feature Alexei Cherepanov out of the tournament but that was measure week’s news. It will be fun to watch this kid in dwell next week! Then Luke went on to inform that the Canes ordain be officially unveiling their new jersey on Thursday of this week! This is huge news since it was previously believed that no one would be able to see the jersey until the Caniac Carnival on the 16th. I desire I had an invitation to attend that touch conference! But such is the life of a lowly blogger. We’ll just undergo to wait and see if any of the “allow” news sources report anything. I will post a picture as soon as one is available. Finally. I received another recent email from a friend of the communicate who informed me that a friend of a friend of his did a tattoo for Mike Commodore. He was nice enough to displace along a picture of it and gave me permission to post and share it with the be of you. I’m not an expert on tattoos but it seems desire fine artwork to me. It looks desire Commie will undergo a lasting memory of his Cup run with the Canes which he can glance at anytime he wants to. Awesome! Errol the guy who runs color Flame stain on Hillsborough Street did that tattoo. I saw him a couple of weeks ago for the first time in a while and he told me about it. Commodore gave him a team-signed jersey that’s now framed and hanging up in the shop.

"Both Extremes!" posted by ~Ray

2) In the responses of our last post two folks (I Speek the Truth) and () commented upon Forsberg. We accept that Foppa's(Peter Forsberg) situation is so tenuous/unknown that no GM at this point has him on their bunco term radar. The cap be injury uncertainty and limit on who he'd be willing to compete for all check his current attractiveness That's not to say that not almost all 30 teams wouldn't object a HEALTHY Foppa on their aggroup. As we mentioned quite a few teams undergo enough cap lay to satisfy his anticipated demands (5+ mil) His situation reminds us a little bit of the Roger Clemens nonsense in MLB. He limited the be of teams he'd compete for and wouldn't go away until June. So far with 5 wins we'd say he swindled the Yankees!3) Niedermayer's situation is different from the other two on our enumerate. Scott has a valid assure for this AND next toughen for a bout 6.75 mil/per. alter after his Cup win he mentioned he leave office. Since then it has been apparent that his team the Ducks were anticipating he would(signing Schneider) but comfort held out hope he'd go. To their credit they undergo remained on the high road. All along saying they'd 'give Scott measure'. Even during the Penner situation when Brian bump off could undergo legitimately demanded an answer the Ducks didn't publicly label out their (former-?) head. As we undergo mentioned previously no be his recent/desire call success Neidermayer's lack of a timely decision is disdainful and self centered. If reports are to be believed that he has enrolled his kids in Anaheim schools then it may convey he's returning after all but Scott say something NOW!4) Selanne unlike Niedermayer is a UFA. He could go where ever he'd like. To this inform other than some unsubstantiated rumors in July about a likely Flyers destination things have been quiet with regard to the Finnish Flash. Brian bump off has noted he'd desire to undergo him back but has already invested in other players making it difficult for Teemu to go IF Niedermayer also returns. Retirement is also a possibility but after a resurgence in Disneyland we don't see that as a likely cover. If he was dead set on the Ducks and Scott also returned. Teemu would have to act a modest pay cut and have a lions overlap of his salry in performance bonuses. That way the Ducks could delay his cap hit. We are hearing that this is the most likely scenario and he doesn't be to uproot his family and get for another NHL aggroup. Else a go to Finland would be more likely.5) Meanwhile on the other extreme players like: 6) Some like carter and Allison may be pricing themselves out of a job certainly Allison should fire his agent or kick himself in the shorts for not taking a bit less last year. We're told that he'd get little more than the league minimum now. As for Carter after last year most GM's would be wary of giving him anything more than a 2-way deal which the proud Anson will never do. A trip over the pond is more likely is no one comes calling soon. Brent Sopal is more of an enigma he puts up decent enough offensive numbers but seems to get bounced around more than one would expect. Of all the listed players he is the most likely to be on a starting roster go October. Niedermayer - you're talking about one of the toughest decisions any professional athlete has to make in his entire lifetime. His employer has given him full freedom to alter his decision on his own timetable. Sure. Burke would've liked an earlier answer to allow him to make his cap lay moves - but it's not desire the delay is gonna be the difference between a cup and not making the playoffs. That team will be just book no matter what Niedermayer's final decision is. So I'm not sure if it's allot for any of us to call for a decision. get the guy alone. Sopel - I evaluate you're quite alter about this guy. He's not exactly the model of a "play-your-heart-out" player but he's comfort got some real determine especially for a aggroup that needs to fill some holes on the back line. 1) come up for the first month after the Cup we would have agreed with you. Scott earned the right to take a few weeks away from hockey and end his future. 2) However he has to know he is in a business. As such that requires a responsibility not only to his employers but to his teammates. They won't ever say so but privately we bet they're none too happy with it being almost September and Scott STILL not sure what he's gonna do3) Even in the non cap NHL it would undergo been appropriate to notify the team sooner than now. In the capped NHL reality a player with another 13+ million remaining on his broach has to accept that the aggroup made a commitment to him financially and its his responsibility to live up to it by making timely decisions that can affects his team.4) The Ducks will never go public for a variety of reasons but they can not be pleased by this dragging of the feet. Just as the Ducks owed Scott time to decide. Neidermayer owed the Ducks a reasonably timely decision 1) We accept it has to do with their respective ages at which they signed their contracts.2) We accept the new CBA spells out that a player who is over 35 when they signed their assure will have that ascertain against the cap regardless of retirement. Much desire the Devils were on the fasten with Malakhov measure year3) As Scott was only 33 when he signed his current broach the Ducks would NOT be charged with his salary towards their cap. come down was 36 whe he signed a 3 year broach that the Isles are forced to ascertain regardless of his new lay on the team So mention moderation is off once again! So to summarize the lies revealed so far:1. You set your answer to go away at 255,508 not 0.2. You had an imaginary pass in Italy that you react to give evidence of.3. You claim to have had a 'patching things up' meeting with Eklund on a Jersey land. Eklund verifies by email (eklund@hockeybuz com) that no such meeting too displace with ANYONE! Your lies don't stop there. The many Faux ID's that you use to comment on your own communicate are so obvious it is ridiculous. I ordain adjudge there are a couple of legit ones but most are made up by you. Makes you query if you can believe anything on this blog if you undergo been caught in so many lies 1) No one other than you cares about a hit counter. BTW. 2 weeks ago you said we started it at 244,303. Get your facts strait. LOL2) Our pass and who/what we did is not relevant to a hockey blog. We don't care that you don't accept we actually had a pass or not. No amount of create would ever be enough for your kind anyway3) We don't accept anything you create verbally with regard to our NJ beach incident. We were there you were not.4) Just for kicks we'd all like to see what 'ID's are "Faux" and which are legit and how you can be how. And gratify don't give us that silly "IP address" nonsense again. Faux,1. If you lie about something trivial desire a hit counter how can we believe anything you say? BTW-2 weeks ago you did set the counter to go away at 244,303 now you undergo changed that to 255,508. The proof is this line of code from your own blogger template: src='http://www hit-counts com/counter php?t=37&digits=8&ic=255508&cid=502896'IC - stands for sign ascertain. 2. A simple scanned copy of your pip ticket would be create enough. Can black out the name and everything. You simply were not where you claim you were.3. Perhaps you were on the land in NJ that day. But it is alter that you had no encounter with Eklund that day. Anyone can affirm this by emailing.
