Dan Ellis earned CCHA Alumni of the Week honors after making three appearances with the Nashville Predators and posting a 2-0-0 record. He first saw action in a relief effort against the Los Angeles Kings. In 30 minutes of play he stopped 15-of-17 shots receiving no decision. Two days later made 20 saves in a 3-0 shutout win over Atlanta his first start in a Predators uniform and his second ever NHL start (Dallas. 2003-04). His memorable week concluded with a 24-save performance in a 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers. While at Nebraska-Omaha. Ellis a second round Dallas draft pick amassed 52 wins in just three seasons. In 2000-01 he helped the Mavericks to a fourth-place finish in the CCHA and a spot in the league semifinals and found himself on the CCHA All-Rookie Team. He did not succumb to a sophomore slump as he finished his second campaign with 20 wins overall over 1,000 saves and CCHA All-Conference Second Team honors. His third season saw him make over 1,000 saves yet again and record an impressive.900 save percentage. He is in his first full season in the NHL after carrying much of the load for the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League the past two seasons.
