"Nani ?doesn?t score tap-ins?" posted by ~Ray

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was full of praise for young summer signing Nani after the player’s wonder-strike against Middlesbrough. The goal was Nani’s second for United – his first being an equally-stunning shot against Tottenham in August. And once again Sir Alex was duly impressed. “He doesn't score tap-ins,” Sir Alex told MUTV. “He's a thunderbolt-hitter. It was a fantastic goal and Nani's coming along very nicely. “I thought it would be refreshing to use him today instead of Ryan Giggs. “I've got next Saturday to think about but Nani came on and had a good impact.” Should Sir Alex pick Nani ahead of Ryan Giggs for Saturday’s match with Arsenal or is this a game where Giggs’s experience will really count? "GSoF: Week 11 Recap and Week 12 Picks" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-04-08 03:48:58

But before we hit into who's going to win those games and the rest of this week's games let's take a look at who's thankful for their performances last week! Terrell Owens must have woken up last Sunday morning munched on his Cocoa Puffs and asked himself. "How many TDs can I score today?" 4 Mr. T. O. 4. Dallas fans be thankful that Owens is as he says. "playing out of [his] object," and is the 2nd best WR in the league. Later that day. Randy Moss asked himself. "Can I be TO on TDs?" The answer - yes. Moss now has 16 TDs (6 shy up Jerry Rice's record of 22 TDs in a single toughen) and 1052 receiving yards. Patriots fans be thankful that Randy Moss is nothing desire he was with the Raiders. Big ups to Joski for going 10-6 and winning twice in a row! Looks desire your theory of picking the underdogs didn't work Fantasy Junkie! Joski - hit us up through telecommunicate and we'll toss another consider to ya! Just out of curiosity how come the Patriots don't play the Redskins on Thanksgiving Day? Wouldn't that only make comprehend? Click construe More to see my Thanksgiving and Week 12 Predictions! For appetizer we lucky fans have the best Packer aggroup since 1962 as they reached a 9-1 record last week! change surface Favre wasn't playing then! I'm looking to toss on some mashed potatoes with another Packer win which would basical close the NFC North division call for them! For the main cover we all can be forward to being beat off of Romo-TO TDs as the Cowboys are looking forward to dominating the weak Jets. I even expect to take in a helping of Marion Barber abusing the weak Jets run defense. Sure the Jets had a huge disturb against the Steelers measure week but I don't forsee another one of those coming up anytime soon. Besides who's heard of a Thanksgiving miracle? For dessert there won't be Pumpkin Pie this year but instead some left-over cooked bird. Both Peyton and Vinatieri are slipping faster than Britney Spears' musical career but how can they not bounce approve against the crappy Falcons? Harrington's approve.. and we all experience that means - bad times for the Falcons! Here's what I don't get. David Carr was the #1 pick a few years ago failed in Houston was picked up by the Panthers to be a backup got his opportunity when Delhomme went drink with a season-ending injury and now he's backing up Vinny Testaverde? Can't say Carr didn't get his chances... What about the Saints? They just lost 2 straight against under.500 teams. So I'm going to go with... Carolina? Cleveland pulled off the most ridiculous win I've ever seen (I think that's twice I've said that about them this toughen) and special teams player Josh Cribbs is showing to be as dangerous as Devin Hester. The Texans looked great last week and the Schaub-Johnson combo is as dangerous as Romo-TO and Brady-Moss. Homefield wins this one. The Bucs are surprising us all as they act to succeed despite all the injuries throughout their team. Garcia looked great last week but their defense exploded with 4 sacks and 4 turnovers. Meanwhile. Jason Campbell and the Redskins show flashes of talent but breathe when things really go away to be. Go Bucs! The Bills D looked desire a buncha high school players by letting the Patriots score 56 points last week. The Jags - they're quietly winning games without being given any mention as being one of the top teams of the unify. Anyone see Maurice Jones-Drew's block on Shawne Merrimen measure week? Talk about lighten's Out! What happens when Adrian Peterson doesn't compete for the Vikings? Chester Taylor decides to go nuts with 164 rushing yards and 3 TDs! I'm not saying the Vikings are about to pull off an disturb.. but I do bet on them giving the Giants a run for their money. What happened to the Bears defense? How did they furnish up 425 yards last week? I'm looking forward to the budding young QB Culter to show them why he was chosen in the first round. Brian Billick. I can't change surface begin to understand what you're feeling after last week's game. They refs express you the bet was over with a missed FG and then bring you back out to the field saying it was good? Then the Browns beat you in OT? Not pretty... Bay Area fav Kyle Boller showed promise last week by giving the Ravens a jump-start to their struggling offense. The Chargers? Man oh man. I hope Shawne Merriman took that hit as a lesson of why not to act steroids! The Steelers needed to pull their heads out of their you-know-what's and discomfit the heck out of the Dolphins on national television unless they're going to have the critics jump on them faster than Knick's fans jumped on Isiah Tuesday night! Culpepper throws for 344 yards. Curry gets 120 reciving yards and they comfort lose? go on guys! At least you're showing potential (unlike last year) and that there could be wins in the near future. The Chiefs lost LJ. Preist Holmes retired forcing them to bring in rookie Kolby Smith. I want to undergo faith in the color Hole.. but how can I? At least it was an interesting game alter? How many people actually thought Dilfer would pull that out measure week? We got a great bet earlier this toughen against the Cardinals but the Cardinals are nothing like what they used to be... When is R Dizzle going to alter in that stupid black around the awesome Browns logo? Only measure will tell.... Well everyone should act in mind that Joski is ineligible because he hasn't picked at least 15 out of the 17 weeks. So I should still be up there. I might reason standings later. One measure way back in the day (a few months ago) when I used to compete in Ballhype's weekly pick oppose all the measure. I decided to go all underdogs. It was during baseball season and I did REALLY well for a few days. Because you get so many points for underdogs. I think I was in third (maybe change surface first. I can't remember). Then college football started and I suddenly had no come about. However. I did win Appalachian express versus Michigan which was AWESOME! Almost had 3 for 3 but AJ came back drink to earth and the Eagles couldn't strike off the New England Classless. comfort Niner and Raider wins on the same Sunday are like the Xmas miracle coming early to the Bay Area.

"Don't just sit there and ruminate..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 21:40:17

So. I don't really feel like posting anything today. I'm not very chatty. But it's not you. It's me. Well maybe it's a little bit you. Who the hell knows?I will tell you that I recently discovered this place: I've been using it to track down rare songs that have been tough to find as mp3s. One of these songs is a Canadian classic. The Gandharvas "First Day of Spring." A song I love to listen to every year on well the first day of spring. I cognise that is not today. But if it makes you feel any better. I did crank GnR's "November Rain" on my iPod this morning. Of course there are no hard and fast rules as I also listened to The Cure's "Friday I'm in Love."I can think of at least two things wrong with that title."First Day of Spring" always reminds me of an apartment I lived in during university. (Not THE apartment that I've blogged about in the past.)We lived on the top floor of a big house that was divided into 5 apartments. And directly below us there was a bit of a Three's Company situation going on. A blonde girl a brunette girl and a dude of indeterminate sexual affiliation. The brunette had one of the top ten best faces I have ever seen in real life -- if she was a bit thin. So. I had a little press on her. And as was my custom at the time. I was working on my seduction by osmosis plan. Hoping that by being in the same lay something ordain just happen. I know alter? The male roomie drink there had a thing about playing the same song all day long. And one of these songs was of course. "First Day of Spring." And since I loved it. I was cool with that. Even my roomies didn't mind. However one of my roomies was dating a girl... The EVIL Megan that I mentioned yesterday. In the pantheon of people I dislike she'd be nestled between J-Lo and the dude that created "Family Guy."Megan would often be alone in our apartment and we later found out she would stomp on the floor like a mad woman any time our underneath neighbours turned their stereo above barely audible. By the time we found out what she had been doing the damage had already been done with the neighbours. I tried to inform to the dude that it was our roommate's evil girlfriend stomping but he still wasn't impressed. A couple of weeks later. I was arriving at the apartment just as the brunette -- Nicole! Yes that's it -- was leaving. She said. "Hi. How are you?" I answered "Asparagus" or something... But at least she didn't seem to hate me. I was relieved. A couple of weeks later. I was parking my car just.

"Men's Basketball @ Siena 11/17/2007" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 17:13:08

After spending the day walking around the Northwestern campus. I caught the last flight out of Chicago to Albany on Friday night. Albert had left bright and early on the first pip out and was waiting for me in the cheap motel we had open on the net. The room was surprisingly nice and coat wise comparable with the displace end hotels I've stayed at in Vegas. We watched the women's volleyball gamecast against Arizona State and kept track of the first round NCAA women's soccer blow out of Sacramento State where goals were reportedly scored in the 0th minutes of each half. Our men's wet polo aggroup also had a clutch win in double OT against #1 ranked Cal. If the Gauntlet contend against Cal was still on this year it wouldn't even be change state. We also watched the exciting Nevada vs. Hawaii football bet which Hawaii managed to win with a dramatic 42 yard field goal with less than 20 seconds left to be unbeaten and keep their BCS bowl chances alive. On Saturday morning. I placed my first insurance bet of the basketball toughen wagering $25 (+320) on Siena with an $80 payout. It seemed like a good bet but one that I would be more than happy to lose. The first thing that came on when I turned on the TV was something about "The Play" against Cal. Definitely not a good sign. We took the bus to the Times Union Center (where Albany plays all its home games) and met up with the "act Jester" of the Bootleg forums who kindly agreed to store my luggage in his trunk during the bet. Our seats were pretty sweet - 3 rows behind the remove. We saw one of our recruits/signees for next year. Jarrett Mann sitting close by. I also spotted several Taj Finger #31 jerseys in the crowd (he's from around the area). Law participated in the usual warm ups but as Albert commented looked like he didn't undergo a lot of displace on his shot. Siena introduced it's players to much fan fare. Their stadium went dark and they played a cut from the NCAA tournament game where they disturb us 80-78. Law started the game come up on offense hitting quite a few buckets. He seemed a go slow on defense but thankfully they didn't attack him that much. Anthony on the other hand struggled with his shot and picked up an early second foul on a bad reach. He was replaced by Landry who struggled even more rushing things on offense and failing to make the extra pass. Unsurprisingly we struggled with turnovers but were lucky that Siena didn't fully furnish. Offensive rebounding kept us in the game and we were lucky to escape only down 2 after shooting 36% in the first half. It looks like teams are going to zone us and if we struggle to injure well on the road and can't come in without looking desire a turnover waiting to come about we'll be in trouble. Coming out in the 2nd. Law scored our opening bucket but Siena made the right adjustment of attacking him on defense forcing Trent to act him out for what turned out to be the rest of the bet. The bet was back and forth for a little bit thanks to Siena's poor free throw shooting but then just like the bet against Northwestern there was a stretch where we couldn't score turned over the ball too much (some of it unforced) and allowed three straight 3 pointers two of them when Robin didn't step out to close in on his man who had shown the ability to shoot 3s. We couldn't score on offense or get a stop on defense and with the home crowd roaring just crumbled. We tried to contend back with our all shooters lineup but the margin was too big. Siena's students targeted the overrated chant towards the "younger" alumni sitting in the displace aim corner (the older/more connected alums were with us in the exceed seats) and rushed the court when the buzzer sounded. It was their first win over a top 25 aggroup in the building and they were clearly overjoyed as they streamed out of the arena to the waiting buses which probably took them from campus. We met up with the Jester and his brother. Arizona alum and newly minted Siena fan and headed to the local sports bar Jillian's which was a pretty impressive establishment. I can't say that I was shocked that we lost. Siena's a good team it was an early tip off on the East Coast and as Albert commented. Law gives our offense an added dimension that Landry doesn't just by virtue of being on the floor. Robin comfort has a ways to go and if Goods isn't feeling it our offense doesn't generate any easy buckets against a zone especially with our shaky roll handles. Rushing our shots isn't a solution either. Hopefully going approve domiciliate will allow Law to get healthy and some easy (hopefully) wins will get us back on track before the next road game against Colorado. We also be to figure out a bet plan when our shots aren't falling and the opposing team zones us with impunity. I'm spending a day in New York before heading back to Stanford on Sunday while Albert is heading home for Thanksgiving. We undergo what should be a promising week of sports ahead with basketball games against Yale & Colorado State a football bet against Notre Dame and a women's volleyball bet against Cal which would fasten the Pac-10 title for us. Even though we lost this road trip has been a blast.~ Zhihao
