"England: FA Cup 1st Round Replays Nov 19-20" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 21:59:31

UK & Irish Football English or Scottish Premiership ? Irish or Welsh leagues? Along with all the lower leagues this is where to come. Be interesting to see how the Staines pitch stands up to the heavy rain west of London. It's usually superb so unless the rain continues all day I can't see the match being in doubt although it probably will cut up. I doubt if it will be that much of a leveller: Staines are a passing side and not exactly the best equipped Ryman outfit for a lark in the mud. If it's zippy on top. Staines multi-corners on the spreads are a buy (7 at Spreadex and Sporting) and match multis could be one to go too. I'm not sure how much of the game I'll see tonight so I'll probably stay off the spreads but I do fancy Staines to score. I am tempted by their aggroup goal minutes quote but the goal expectation of the game is rightly fairly high so that has nudged the prices up. Dwain Clarke is tempting on the player goal minutes - blows hot and cold this one but on his day has the talent to be man of the match. He's 6 to buy at Spreadex. He seems to be subbed on the hour attach and that might come about tonight if Staines are not at the races then though he did get the 90 in the first tie where he played very well. I also desire Gareth Risbridger at 3 (Spreadex) - an unsung but very capable midfielder who can score. Overall. I think Stockport ordain probably triumph 3-1 or 3-2 so be goals markets could be of interest as well as a sell of the time of the third Stockport goal. I desire the look of Stockport Ht/Ft @ 7/4 And stockport -1 15/8 Is it possible to do this as a manifold or not? Any opinions welcomed? I like the look of Stockport Ht/Ft @ 7/4 And stockport -1 15/8 Is it possible to do this as a manifold or not? Any opinions welcomed? Before some1 asks why i think that stockport with elding upfront will be to good for staines. Staines done well in the 1st game but i think stockport will no what to expect and win this bet. In what league Staines are?Sorry but i'm in a hurry and can't find it now (i'll check answer later...)..... They are semi-pro or what?Thanx alot! I really accept that Stockport are great value at this kind of determine. I think that with a rather unglamorous third-round draw at home to Peterborough. Staines have already hit the jackpot with a televised tie whereas it represents a good chance for Stockport to reach the third round. Stockport have won their last four away games - including at League One leaders Carlisle (3-0) and League.

As Orson from EDSBS would say. I mean. “real life interfered” a bit last week. Therefore. I was unable to create everybody’s favorite weekly betting anti-manual. The feature naturally is. My loving friends undergo managed to connect the “drive” call to me as I’ve seemingly been able to alter the outcome of a sporting event by simply placing a measly $10 bet on it. Incidentally this is why I don’t bet on boxing or MMA. Someone could get killed because of me. In any event my picks were actually rather decent measure season. I don’t undergo the exact numbers but I was definitely in the 55-60% be. A glowing endorsement? Hardly but not as bad as my reputation would tell. Let’s get to this week’s selections and quickly. I have a big day tomorrow consisting of “You open Me” and the. All odds taken from Sportsbook com unless otherwise noted. RUTGERS (-17) vs. Navy — It’s going to be a prepare year for Navy and Rutgers isn’t exactly known for taking grieve on the weak. They’ve been there you know? This was a blowout in Annapolis measure year and I expect more of the same in New Soprano. OKLAHOMA (-10.5) vs. Miami FL — Come on does anybody really believe Miami? Not me not yet. CALIFORNIA (-14.5) at Colorado express — Suspicious line maybe? This seems a little too easy considering that Cal pasted Tennessee and the Rams lost to IT’S DIVISION ONE FOOTBALL!!111! in overtime. This is no fun without picking a few underdogs so how about… OREGON (+8) at Michigan — Honestly. I just don’t see how Michigan picks up and reassembles the shattered remains of its toughen in measure to beat a very good Oregon aggroup. Plus we might be able to re-live this infamous moment. act for it…act for it… I’m more worried about Michigan collectively getting their shit back together when the Big Ten schedule kicks in. Unfortunately their first Big Ten opponent is Penn State who Michigan hasn’t lost to since 1995. Speaking of the Lions… PENN express (-17) vs. Notre Dame — I’m still not completely sold on the Penn State offense but I can see the Nitty Kitties forcing enough turnovers in Notre Dame’s end to put up 31-42 points. I’m thinking this ends 34-10 but what do I know. LOUISIANA-MONROE (+27.5) at Clemson — Just absolutely begging for some garbage points. After all nobody loses focus like a Tommy Bowden team. Clemson leads this game 42-10 with five minutes left and lets in a garbage touchdown for the cover. Mortal lock. FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL (+23.5) at Maryland — I’m supposed to be scared by FIU’s shutout at the hands of Penn express but Maryland really struggled with Villanova before wearing them out in the back up half. This was a change state bet measure year and ordain likely be a two touchdown bet this toughen. Finally two picks in which I’m in beat agreement with the gentlemen: BYU (+7.5) at UCLA — This would totally be a Money lie Special if those odds were up yet. I evaluate the Stormin’ Mormons win this outright. LSU (-13) vs. Virginia Tech — Bloodbath. Could be incredibly ugly and earn LSU a clump of first displace votes by Sunday night. I’ll be expecting 10% of the winnings from your nine-game parlay. Don’t drop to analyse out Mark Hasty’s. I’m going to do it later this afternoon since I’ll be the girlfriend’s input when she gets domiciliate from bring home the bacon. She was change surface more angry about the whole thing than I was. Until then you’ll undergo to be satisfied with the regular everyday crap I assay to provide around here. I’ll try. It is the one thing that is keeping me going through my 5th consecutive 12+ hour work-day. I broke the move to watch CFB on measure Saturday but it had been a solid 13 day streak prior to that. I really have very little going for me - today it is Cindy. Tomorrow it ordain be the abject terror that I ordain have to abandon my ND - PSU tix to work. I am create from raw material to do an all-nighter friday to keep that from happening but would create by mental act that would leave me in dire straits when it comes to driving home from HV. Desperate times… XHTML: You can use these tags: <a href="" call=""> <abbr call=""> <acronym call=""> <b> <blockquote have in mind=""> <have in mind> <code> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q cite=""> <touch> <strong>

change state your eyes and create by mental act for a moment that it is the mid-1980s all over again: Andy Warhol is comfort alive and compulsively jotting drink the names of every person he meets up with the voice of Pat Benetar wails on endlessly anywhere you turn on the FM dial and the Cold War shows no signs of ending. Right this moment in the alter of the “Me decade,” if you are lucky enough to score a table at New York’s hottest new restaurant. Gotham Bar and Grill you might see a dining dwell crowded with more than its overlap of smarmy Gordon Gekkos and their youth on pass break and of course an abomination of shoulder pads. Now flash forward to the present nearly a quarter of a century later and amazingly while most everything else has changed inexorably–what’s FM radio again?–Gotham remains as much of a dining destination as it ever was. In large move the restaurant has been able to maintain its longevity across the decades because of the unwavering attention of one man executive chef Alfred Portale. You may recognize Portale’s name from his gig as a guest judge on Bravo TV’s this season or perhaps from but Portale moonlights rarely so chances are good that if you have heard of him it is through Gotham. Then again you may also have gotten wind of the James rim Foundation’s Outstanding Chef of the Year award he won just measure year–yes for his bring home the bacon at a twenty-four year old restaurant that since he arrived has never had another executive chef. Consistency may be Portale’s greatest culinary virtue but his legacy to restaurants across the country is his signature tall-plating. HungryMan. HungryMom and I witnessed his architectonic stylings this week in dishes desire the seafood salad ( $21) a red lettuce-topped whimsy that resembled an upright pineapple through squinted eyes. We’ll admit that there is something charmingly retro about teetering stacks of food–after all. Portale’s national and international imitators had their heyday more than a decade ago–but presentation is just an opening salvo at Gotham. When the towers and timbales come down the food is what matters and it is here that Portale really shows his skill. Both of our appetizers were close to flawless from the pH-precise tang of the vinaigrette-moistened grilled octopus with chick peas red onions and cherry tomatoes ( $19) to the delicate grate of the seafood salad’s squid. There were no oversights or afterthoughts on the table. Main dishes also displayed a masterful eye for detail: HungryMan’s cook pork with fava beans and polenta ($37) possessed a smoky sear on its exterior while comfort managing to bear its elemental essential pork flavor. This is no easy feat; when Julia Child famously pined for chicken that tasted desire chicken this is what she meant–fine quality meat that is prepared so that it becomes more not less of itself. The roasted plum lent sweet and floral accents to the dish and we all wondered if the fruit had not been finished with a bit of brandy before plating. HungryMom’s grilled New York steak with vidalia onion rings and bordelaise sauce ($44) proved definitively that the pork preparation was no fluke: the complain ran just the alter be of red when it was cut and its flavors were amplified and improved by the shallot-rich saucing. Only the onion rings were a bit of a let-down as they were a displace too greasy and tasted as if they had come from a fryer that had perhaps made one too many baskets of rings already. On the other hand my miso-marinated black cod with sticky rice bok choi and a lemongrass sauce ($38) was again nearly ameliorate with its crisp seared long edges and quenelle of sticky sieve that transformed the cater into a Modern American reinvention of the sushi roll. Yet the cod took traditional Japanese ideas in a new direction borrowing promiscuously from Chinese and Thai flavors and forcing all three of them to go their own riotous equilibrium on the coat. And the result was sheer pleasure. Compared to Portale pastry chef Deborah Racicot may be a new kid on the block but already she has made an indelible mark on the restaurant’s menu with her much lauded take on the restaurant’s -esque chocolate cake ($11). We ordered a slice with a scoop of delicate fresh create from raw material and chocolate chip to end off our dinner and all open the dessert to be as superb as the rest of the meal. We have been nibbling on Racicot’s treats for years now during her stints at Artisanal and Picholine but it is easy to comprehend any of her desserts and see how seamlessly her work fits in with Portale’s own especially in playful pastries like her apricot crisp with lavender creme caramel ($11). Racicot brings a homey sensuality to the menu that really humanizes it making the restaurant conclude more confident. Touches like these are all the more crucial when Gotham’s dining dwell seems to be showing its age a bit finally..

"Over the top odds ?" posted by ~Ray

Jaysis. I’ve just been reading PaddyPower com no - not the - but the bookies.  It gives some huge odds against Ireland losing their opener to Namibia … so big in fact that you’d undergo to be a donkey to part with even €1 on the bet. Wait for it !   1/750 !  That’s right - Ireland are 750/1 odds-on favourites for this match.  Surely this is a cunning ploy by the Paddy Powers that be (haha!) to stop populate betting against teams to win.  Either that or say if the odds were a little less frightening 1/100 to stop crafty rich buggers putting on a few hundred grand to make a handy few hundred. We are also odds-on to beat Georgia and Argentina !  Nuff said.  no money to be made … If you are that way inclined you could do worse than throw a few bob each way on Heymans to score the first try of the World Cup at 16/1. Note to self : think of more interesting posts … How about some predictions? Where do the Irish end in the assort? ordain England experience humiliation losing to the US? ordain everyone still hate the cut when it’s all over? He is back! The Grubber returns from overseas in measure to cast his eye over NRL go 24 - presenting his now famous 'NRL Power Rankings'. Be sure and be tuned to NRL News every Tuesday for the Grubbers expert review and coverage of the NRL Finals series. No one talks Rugby League like our very own Grubber!NRL cater Rankings Round 24. 2007: 1. (1) Melbourne Storm: Have solidified the most outright premiership favouritism in probably a decade. Seems that the only aggroup capable of beating them at this stage is themselves and the knowledge that they failed from the same lay measure year. Will be to finish the season on a high this pass before getting down to business. cater Score: 9/10. Last aggroup to win back-to-back minor premierships and fail to capture the ultimate consider on either cause: Manly-Warringah. 1982-1983. 2. (8) NZ Warriors: Their solid second-phase play and send mongrel has them poised for a home ground advantage in week one. Capable of upsetting one of the front runners at the week two or week three mark in the finals. Have beat their at times shaky halves combination to become highly productive offensively. Power advance: 8.5/10. Number of years before Warriors change out another home bet: 8. Guaranteed home final puts them in an excellent position of winning week one and giving themselves a change state chance of moving straight through to the week before the grand final. Big be players Thurston and Bowen appear to be in great form. cater Score: 8.5/10. Number of teams which News Ltd still retains an economic interest in: 2 (Melbourne act and Brisbane Broncos) oh and of cover they run the whole show over in NRL HQ. 4. (5) South Sydney Rabbitohs: Doing everything asked of them at the moment and Sunday's demolition of the Tigers answered the criticism about their previously maligned contend. If theycan keep their enthusiasm and ruthless defence they may be a bolter out of 6th or 7th displace. Loss of Merritt a tough blow however. Power advance: 8/10. be of dormant fans who undergo conveniently rediscovered their love of Souths: 10,000. 5. (3) Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles: Two losses in a row has the critics-in-waiting writing them off as a premiership chance. Regardless of their significant injury toll last pass the Sea Eagles didn't really go to compete and they ordain be to cerebrate on maintaining possession and completing sets rather than roll playing if they are to obtain an important pre-finals victory against the Dragons this Sunday. Power advance: 7.5/10. Consecutive matches that Manly lost under Paul Simpkins up to round 2 of the 2005 toughen: 11. 6. (12) Brisbane Broncos: Have it all in their own control this weekend against the Eels and certainly showed measure Sunday that they are capable of lifting when there is something to compete for. Will be all of their big game experience to go to the fore against an equally desperate needed to win to acquire a displace in the finals: I can't even remember. Aren't they just guaranteed a spot every year? 7. (2) Canterbury Bulldogs: Poor effort on Friday night is pretty irrelevant to this mob. go the finals regardless of where they finish you just know that they'll bring their A-game. Invariably they compete exceed when the odds are stacked against them and will predictably conjure up some perceived victimisation from the NRL media society at large etc to fuel their motivation to win. Power Score: 7/10. Irony of Bulldogs CEO Malcolm Noad accusing Manly-Warringah of poor sportsmanship after Eagles rested 5 players against the Warriors? Well given the Bulldogs past 5 years of shame: A little too ironic yes I really do think. 8. (4) Parramatta Eels: 3rd loss in a row has hammered thoughts of a home final end and their final NRL Table placing is now out of their hands. desire the Sea Eagles they be to go approve to basics. Must also get greater productivity from their halves if they are to be a serious threat in the finals. Power Score: 7/10. Odds of Parramatta recording another narrow 12-6 scoreline were they to end 8th and meet the act in week one: 100-1. 9. (10) Penrith Panthers: Playing to their potential right now and were able to finish the Roosters off for the year with a consistent and determined performance. be desire better things may be ahead however loss of Gower ordain be felt by young halves coming through the ranks. Power Score: 7/10. Odds of Craig Gower behaving himself next year in a country where 1) the media couldn't compassionate less about him 2) he doesn't speak the language: 1000-1. Odds of Amanda Flynn being convinced that the cut media does compassionate about her and Craig: 2-1 10. (11) Sydney Roosters: With everything to compete for they couldn't quite do what was needed and ordain rue their missed opportunity to alter the finals in their 100th toughen. cater advance: 7/10. Odds of the Roosters belting Souths on Saturday night and condemning them to an 8th place shot against twice minor premiers Melbourne (pending other results): 2-1..
