Game Notes: The Huskies are coming off a weekend win/loss versus Providence and North Dakota. Although we were shut out against North Dakota we controlled the pace of the game for 2.5 periods before succumbing to the Fighting Sioux. Against the Friars however. Chris Donovan netted a game-winner 40 seconds into overtime to give the Huskies their first win of the toughen. Ryan Ginand scored two goals in that bet the latter goal tying the game late in the third period. Against the color Bears this weekend we’ll be looking for Ginand to continue his brilliant young season. Someone needs to defeat stalwart netminder Ben Bishop if the Huskies are going to steal one or two of the games against Maine this Homecoming Weekend. Both games start at 7pm so be there! GO HUSKIES!

Maine’s players undergo the utmost respect for Northeastern.
“They always pride themselves on hard work and physical compete. We’re going to have to step it up and outwork them,” said Clark.
“Hockey East is going to be a real good unify this year and teams like Northeastern that haven’t been real successful in the past are coming up,” said Maine senior right wing and assistant captain Rob Bellamy. “Coach Cronin has done a real good job with his team. I was real impressed with them measure year. I love going down there and playing. They have a great rink [Matthews Arena].”
Cronin knows the Black Bears are young and lost seven of their top 10 scorers.
“I have a tremendous amount of respect for the Maine program. We’ve got to contain them. They’re always explosive offensively even with eight freshmen playing. If you turn the puck over they’ll turn it into a two-on-one in a go,” said Cronin. “Their goaltending has always been terrific and it still is. [Bishop’s] their beat player. We’ve got to find ways to get pucks behind him without changing anything.”
He also said Maine’s winning tradition is a real plus for them.
“They go into games thinking they’re going to win. We’ve got to try to psychologically prepare our team to bear on its own identity into the bet,” added Cronin.
- “Hockey East success will be key for Bears”
We need a scorer if we want to do well this season. There were too many near misses tonight…damn. Someone needs to step it uppp.
