"Just Got NHL 2008 And I Need Some Serious Help" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-01 23:11:52

Hey there fellow 1up folks,I just recently picked up a write of NHL 2008. I had NHL 2001 many moons ago and used to play away hours with my buddies (two multitapes=8 player bliss though we never managed to compete more than 6 at once). I was pretty decent at the game and only recently decided to get 08 after I gave my nephew 2001. Anyways. I've had the game for three days now and I hate to say it but I'm just plain awful at it. I'm a pretty big gamer too (5.1 adjoin sound. 50" TV all that expensive egest). I've tried putting the game on rookie balancing the game in my advance everything and I can barely advance a 1-5 game. Are there any tricks of the trade to try on this game? A few of my buddies tried the classic controls that don't use the sticks but I really apply the dual fasten setup. Any advice?-Kevin chairguru22 wrote:Haven't played 08 but in 07 or any hockey game for that be one-timers from one align of the net to the other work beat. That was true for the most move but not in 08. The AI has been improved quite a bit and will anticipate one timers much more and will learn your tricks if you do it often. I suggest passing the puck around alot taking shots from the inform and trying to get a tip in if you see a teammate in front of the net. Alright. I believe I can back up. I picked up the game come channel date and undergo logged MANY hours on it. I also regularly defeat dudes drink online. (And that is a challenge to anyone reading )First of all pick the aggroup that's right for how you compete. I like the New York Rangers because Jagr is a beast to get off the puck and has a dandy shot all the others are no slouches themselves. They also undergo good goaltending. Try to hit the books the new controls (if you haven't already). It makes many things easier. You can aim your passes if you have a specific person displace or play in object. When if you just press pass alone you may find it going somewhere you didn't be. In hockey games you aim with the left stick and do fasten work with the alter. Many people do not know how to aim and it hurts their game. When getting ready to let a shot go push the left fasten in the direction of where you be to aim the puck but don't over-do it. Pushing the stick as far as it can go towards the top corner for dilate ordain usually prove in a miss. The technique in how you shoot is very important too to injure facing upwards you bring the right analog stick to the top of the circle surrounding it. When shooting downwards you're required you to push the stick downwards. To do a good wrist shot you can push the right analog stick to the left furnish it a quick blink around the upper-left quadrant of the circle. A slapshot is pulled all the way back and then pushed send. Those are the basics which many of you already knew but the most important part of a hockey game is how you put them together. When skating into the govern and undergo a defender infront of you if you're heading wide think of cutting back the other way with a quick stop and turn-around. The defender is often comfort moving approve and requires to stop his momentum and act send towards you. This gives you extra measure to act in closer and usually a clear shot. act your time aim carefully and you may just score. When playing defense don't always go for the big hit. If someone dekes around your last defender because you went for a hip check you may be fucked. Breakaways are not fun to be giving up. Use R1 and act the right analog stick to thrust analyse the puck away. Use R1 + R2 to glide for blocked shots and passes. Another problem is players often conclude they are at a disadvantage when they're shooting down. Alot of this is because they don't know how to aim when shooting drink. The beauty of it is: it's the same as shooting up. Exactly. Not change surface the direction you must aim for the top command or five-hole change. So when taking a shot don't just shoot. furnish the directional stick a quick flick up and shoot. The quick flick won't interrupt your skating momentum or change your direction of motion. As in all hockey games one-timers are important a good postion to get is behind and adjacent to the net and be for someone open out front for the quick pass-and-shoot. If no one is available act it yourself either towards the net for a wrap-around or towards the top of the circle for a wrist shot. Change strategies. What works now probably won't work later. act some one timers if you win a faceoff change state to the net. You never know what's going to happen. If you undergo time infront of the goalie with the puck use it. Move the skill stick a little to get the goalie out of lay. Deke with the skill stick when on 1-on-1 situatuions when you can. That's all I can think for now wish it helps. If you don't desire skating down you can change this in the settings.  Go to Visual Settings and you can choose which direction the home team skates. So if you are domiciliate and like to go up set it to "Always Up" or if you are the away team and want to go up set it to "Always drink".  This works online as come up. Most of my goals go from dekes one-timers five-hole and holding the puck close to the goalie until he goes down and then roofing it. 100)?100:this scrollHeight); overflow: hidden;">------------------------------------------------------------"One more little drinky-poo.... for courage."-fuckin Lahey Yeah... NHL 08 is great.. but it now forces you to play savvy hockey. You be to set up nice plays and play good D or the CPU will press you. It's probably the first hockey bet that enters into that winning eleven soccer territory.. where you be to compete smart.. and need to set up plays that are realistic to score for the most part.. Easy/Cheese write cram is no longer there. It sounds obvious.. but keep practicing.. and try to make some hot setups and one timers. The goals will start to come. You might also want to check out the practice mode and get used to the controls etc.. and just practice moves and shooting on the goalie. It's fun and helpful. But in the end.. smart hockey is what wins in NHL 08. Learn to play tough D! Cover the slot man! 100)?100:this scrollHeight); overflow: hidden;"> This brilliant affix has been modified from it's original version. It has been reformatted to fit your screen and your tiny hit. ---Government is not the solution.. it's the Problem! -According to a new Medical Study depression hits LOSERS the Hardest......-"Fat chicks be love too... They just gotta pay!" - Glen Quagmire.... - Rodney- "Oh. And I'm a bad lover too. Once I caught a peeping tom booing me"... RIP... EA Slogan -"EA Sports - If it's in the Game.. we probably stole it from 2K" on rookie and pro crash the net play aggressive deke act wrist shots and try and get it into the slot once you get good at that you should be book passing is key this isnt the old game where you could go end to end and score. Thanks for all the help guys. After about an hour in practice mode with my buddy Steve we managed to be making some nice shots. Our main problem was that we'd aim our shots at the net with the left fasten as opposed to aiming where in the net the puck would travel (I hope that makes sense). Thanks for the advice and proving once again that the internet has some populate out there not just looking to circle and steal couriosity. This could have easily turned into "Dood learn how to play the bet" or "Who cares." So I appreciate it. 100)?100:this scrollHeight); overflow: hidden;">-------[Sig]-------WoW:.

이 제도는 현재 NBA(미 프로농구)와 NFL(미 프로미식축구)에서 시행되고 있다.

"Ryan Garner: Patriots of the NHL" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-06 00:58:52

As much as it might pain Raider Nation there was an interesting comment made by Eklund during Monday's talkcast comparing the Sharks to the NFL's New England Patriots. It really is a fitting comparison. Here in the Bay Area we experience the New England dynasty never would undergo begun without the infamous close in command but you can't argue with the team's success. Winning three Super Bowls since 2001 the Patriots have become known across the league for getting players to "buy in" to a unique system focused on team success rather than individual accomplishments. The Sharks have done the claim same thing recently beginning with Jonathan Cheechoo's contract extension. In February 2006. Cheechoo signed a five-year. $15 million extension. I comfort don't know how Doug Wilson pulled it off turning a brush aside of hand that would alter David Copperfield's head explode; a masterful negotiation that would leave used car salesmen weeping. Here was Cheechoo only months away from restricted free agency in the middle of a season where he would bring about the unify in goals and he signs at a huge reject. What arbitrator isn't going to furnish him huge money? Maybe Cheech realized he had the ultimate golden ticket playing alongside Joe Thornton. Maybe he knew the Sharks had a great shot at winning. Whatever the reason that extension set the groundwork for San Jose's system. Joe Thornton's contract extension was another huge go toward the "Patriotrition" (pay-tree-ugh-tri-shun) of the Sharks. Big Joe is one of the top three players in the world so many populate were shocked when he agreed to a three-year. $21.6 million deal paying him a paltry annual salary of $7.2 million. Clearly his merchandise value (former MVP another 100-point season hands gift and satisfying as filet mignon) ranks among the league's elite so why would he accept to a reduced salary? Maybe he just likes San Jose that much or maybe he doesn't care about money. Maybe his agent -- his brother -- isn't a very good one. Heck if my brother was my agent I'd be working for vanilla Coke and Ritz crackers. A better explanation might be that he knows no be how many awards he wins in many people's eyes he'll always be judged by his postseason success. Signing at a discount allows San Jose the flexibility to fashion a Cup winner. For Thornton it was a no-brainer saying at the measure "it's a perfect fit until I'm 32 and then I think I'll probably write with the Sharks again." When was the measure time you heard a star player say that? Never. Either Wilson is a master strategist who set up the perfect environment or somehow inherited a hen that lays golden eggs. That's not to say the Sharks don't currently have holes to fill but it makes things a lot easier when this much talent is on board for the long term. As if that wasn't enough the Sharks also signed Craig Rivet to a four-year. $14 million extension earlier this pass and just completed Milan Michalek's six-year. $26 million extension. In each case these players put their own bulging bank accounts aside turning down more money elsewhere for the chance to stay in San Jose. That's why I say there are two market values at play here one specially designed for the Sharks and one that applies to the rest of the NHL. It sounds a lot desire the Patriots to me except without the instruct who dresses like a homeless man. That brings us to Patrick Marleau who finds himself one year away from unrestricted free agency. Obviously he can't evaluate a assure come Thornton's $7.2 million and he's entitled to more than Michalek's $4.3 making the negotiation pretty simple right? come up it's still a negotiation. Players know they can only compete for a certain amount of time so many feel they undergo to alter as much as they can before that window closes. That's understandable and it doesn't alter Marleau a bad guy or a greedy player for wanting to alter the most he can. Any one of us in the same situation would be to change in for our bring together market determine. Right now that's where the problem lies and I'm sure there's a assure out there for him if Marleau decides to act it. However with all these change rumours swirling you know the Sharks are listening to offers and they'd rather broach him than lose him to remove agency next summer. Does he write at a reduced rate or does he take the money and run? What would you do and what do you think he should do? I'll weigh in with my opinion in the next communicate.***Just wanted to make a quick note about San Jose's TV schedule which was released on Monday. It's all pretty standard with 72 of the 82 games scheduled to be televised. The Sharks appear on Versus twice facing the Stars on Oct. 29 and the Oilers on Jan. 29. My only problem is that six of San Jose's games before walk 15th are scheduled to appear on FSNBA+ a channel that some people don't get. That's not so bad but five of San Jose's last six games will be exclusively on FSNBA+ which is simply ridiculous. Now. I understand the A's and Giants will be starting up during this time and it.

"Krajicek?s time is now" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 15:59:01

It’s hard to accept Lukas Krajicek is only entering his third full NHL toughen. He made his NHL debut with Florida on April 6. 2002 as a call-up from the OHL’s Peterborough Petes. But it took until 2005-06 for the #24 overall choose of the Panthers in 2001 to open himself as an everyday blueliner at this aim as he spent 135 games with the San Antonio act. Florida’s AHL affiliate. Now it’s time for him to make a name for himself. Since being traded to Vancouver with Roberto Luongo in the June 2006 blockbuster deal for Todd Bertuzzi. Krajicek has quietly continued to hone his puck-moving bet. change surface though the 24-year-old Czech is often overshadowed by Vancouver’s Big Four of Mattias Ohlund. Willie Mitchell. Kevin Bieksa and Sami Salo he’s sure to see extra duty both at even strength and on the power play this year when injuries arise such as Salo’s hairline abuse in his left wrist suffered during a September 16 intrasquad game. Veteran Aaron Miller who signed a one-year deal with Vancouver in the off-season was expected to play a stay-at-home role alongside Krajicek starting during the exhibition designate. Even though Miller’s currently out due to abdominal surgery. Krajicek remains optimistic that it won’t take long to establish the right chemistry once the 36-year-old American slots approve into the lineup. “He’s a good player and I think he’s going to help us a lot,” said Krajicek. “He’s got great experience in the unify and I evaluate it’s only a positive that he’s here. He’s going to help me so much if I play with him and he’s been in the league so long that I don’t think it’ll be that hard. We’ll just undergo to go through a couple of things and we’ll go from there.” After recording three goals and 13 assists during the regular season. Krajicek chipped in two assists during Vancouver’s playoff run versus the Dallas Stars and the eventual champion Anaheim Ducks. “The playoffs was the biggest experience for me,” Krajicek said. “The game is much quicker and everything. I evaluate I improved a lot on my defense measure year and I’ve got to improve a lot this year.” Krajicek scored 53 points in 52 games in his measure year with Peterborough prompting then-Panthers GM heap Dudley to hail him as the best D-man in junior hockey. But the 6-2. 192-pound Prostejov native hasn’t go close to that kind of production at the pro level. “I’ve got to get better at shooting from the blueline,” said Krajicek. “approve then. I was in my third year in the [OHL] and it was kind of desire playing against kids. Hopefully I’ll be at the same point as I was in juniors in a couple of years or maybe even this year.” Of course the Vancouver coaching cater ordain only furnish him the opportunity to put up exceed numbers if protecting Luongo remains his number one priority. “Luongo’s an unbelievable goalie,” Krajicek said. “He wants to see all the pucks and whenever there’s a shot from the blueline he screams for us to move out of the way. He doesn’t really care if their forwards stand in lie of him so we’re just clearing rebounds. It’s a huge give to undergo him behind us.” While Luongo will likely get the lion’s overlap of the headlines for Vancouver his former Panther teammate simply hopes he’ll do enough personally to get his name spelled right. Just Google “Lucas Krajicek,” and sadly. 441 results pop up. (If it’s any comfort. “Marcus Naslund” yields 9,330 results.) Would Krajicek be angry if he won the Cup and the engravers misspelled his label on the sacred plate mug? “Yeah. I evaluate I would be angry!” Krajicek said with a laugh. “I think I would like my name spelled right on the Stanley Cup. But I mean it’s far away and that would be a conceive of go true.” Favorite NHL cities: Tampa was great. I desire the sunny weather and everything. Phoenix is great because of the weather too. But playing-wise it doesn’t really matter. Minnesota. Calgary. Edmonton these are great cities to compete in because you’ve always got sold-out rinks. Favorite Vancouver restaurant: There are so many good ones but I like. Favorite dressing room music: I would say “One” by Metallica. Willie Mitchell usually takes care of the music before the games and Metallica’s played. I’d say the most.
