"What A Wild Work Of Art!" posted by ~Ray

We've been on a seek to determine which NHL team has the beat and worst logos. Now we're moving onto goalies! We're pitting mask against mask with the goal of determining the best. And you can vote! Also check out: New name new location! Go to ! You experience surprisingly it has been a lot of work getting the new place up and running in the last few days. If you haven't seen it yet check out the blog the spinoff to NHLToL. If you're a minor league hockey fan continue over there and vote for which unify will get the first tournament — AHL or ECHL. Now onto today's news — or something like that. Two months ago I posted a someone designed for the Minnesota Wild using the depict of the state itself. come up another one was sent to me and I think it's even exceed!I can't get over how many talented populate read and alter to this blog. It's really a great thing. That logo matches so well with the primary while at the same time maintaining its own identity. That is very impressive bring home the bacon and I'd desire to be the first to say so. On a displace yet Wild-related note several fans have suggested the team go to green home jerseys and keep the red for an alter sweater. So here's what the current home jersey would look desire in green. It certainly is unique and not all that bad if you ask me. Yet for some cerebrate this one conjures up Christmas for me — unlike the red one. So I'm posing the question to you all. What do you think?Beyond that what do you evaluate of that logo? Impressive bring home the bacon isn't it? I look send to reading your comments as always. I'm not diggin on the red band around the arm on that green wild jersey. I think that's what gives it that Christmasy feel. Maybe if the red was reduced to another take the same width as the wheat one on the sleeve it would clean it up some. Plus I think you suffer the circle logo being color on green... It shows signs of promise though Love the logo though would it be a better secondary? The current secondary logo is pretty boring (just says "Wild" in an awful font). And any step towards getting green-dominant jerseys approve on the Wild is a good step. We've been on a quest to determine which NHL aggroup has the best and worst logos. Now we're moving onto goalies! We're pitting mask against mask with the goal of determining the beat. And you can choose! Also analyse out: NHL Tournament of Goalie Masks has started! The series has worked its way into the manifold digits today. In this episode we explore ways of improving the Toronto Maple Leafs' mark new Rbk EDGE uniforms. No challenge the biggest complaint has been its simplicity and the fact that while wearing the domiciliate furnish a player is nothing more than a giant blue blob. One minor dress some conclude might ascertain this is adding the same double-stripe open around to the elbows to the waist. If that's not entirely to your liking however. I've got more. No your eyes aren't playing tricks on you. These are the new Phoenix Coyotes jerseys recolored to color and featuring the Leafs logo. If you be closely at the shoulders you'll see the remnants of the "PHX" patch. But isn't that a sight to behold? Something about them just makes those jerseys look quite nice in my eyes. And then if that still isn't your cup of tea perhaps you enjoyed the new Vancouver Canucks sweaters. Perhaps Toronto could go that route. Or perhaps not. That scares me a little bit. So let's pretend you never saw that one. That's all I got. Up next: Nashville Predators. I dunno. The lay two concepts are nice the last awful but having watched the Sens/Leafs game on TSN today. I think the "plain jane" furnish actually looked pretty sharp. i evaluate the study problem is the jerseys do not match the socks adding the stripes on the waist back up there either needs to be a third mark in the elbow (and waist) or less stripes on the socks also bring back the TML logo on the shoulders while i have your attention all original 6 should have laces just my opinion thanks Several teams undergo announced plans to unveil new third jerseys for the 2008-09 season and beyond. Here's a list of what's brewing. Have you been wondering which NHL unify has the WORST logo? Here we're on a mission to sight out. We're pitting nickname against nickname logo against logo with the lone goal of determining the champion. And you can vote! Also check out: The series trudges on tonight as we consider improvements to the new Rbk EDGE NHL uniforms. I told you yesterday that you'd be in for a treat on this one. As far as I'm concerned the Edmonton Oilers have gotten stuck with one of the worst new sweaters in the unify. That's a personal opinion but I stand by it. Many have complained that the Rbk advance jerseys look a lot like learn jerseys. I disagree with that statement as a generalization. But here. I find it appropriate. I undergo several designs to show you and I'll save the beat for last. We'll start out by making some very slight alterations that would improve the jerseys on a major measure. By simply extending the stripes on the sleeves to wrap completely around the elbows and adding a shoulder patch — one borrowed from last year's third jersey — you already end up with a sweater that doesn't look quite so blank. It's disappointing to see that the Oil couldn't manage something as easy as this on their own. Then we have another design very similar to this but with a brand new shoulder patch. I think that's a very interesting logo and with a little work it could be great. I also truly accept that fixing the jostle stripes and adding something to the shoulders is all this jersey needs to really make it shine. But speaking of shining this is what you've been waiting for. Personally. I conclude like it's one of the best Edmonton concept designs I've seen this pass. The pattern was borrowed obviously from the Florida Panthers' new duds but these colors are what Oilers hockey is all about. create by mental act Gretzky and Messier wearing this. You almost can't help it. I am very impressed with this design but as a Bolts fan I'm not sure I really have a say. I'll leave it to the be of you now to end. Especially Oilers fans. express us how you feel about these fixes in the comments. Up next: Washington Capitals. I surprised myself (a Canucks fan) by realizing I would have probably voted for the Oiler logo all the way to the end of the competition; I evaluate it's that good. Considering they had such a great logo to go away with their current jersey's are abysmal. But that last concept jersey is wonderful. I've always thought the Oil should go back to the shoulder yolk of the Gretzky era -- it's what makes their jersey most distinctive and immediately identifiable. I really don't see what the big kerfuffle is about the Oiler's new jersey. Sure it looks bad but so does basically every other in the league (barring the ones that stayed largely the same). The Oilers jersey isn't any worse than Minny or any exceed than Vancouver. They just undergo a crappy team. I like our new jersey's personally as is the only thing I would change would be to put piping down the arm so as to make the elbow stripes not end at nothing and maybe adding a shoulder logo I think the secondary logo of that second concept looked nice and had a lot of potential with some tweaking as it is I don't think we could go approve to the orange and color the copper and color I evaluate looks better and helps to keep us from living in the past this is a new generation a new chance for greatness I was severly disappointed w/ the new Oilers jerseys especially when you see what the Islanders did with theirs. Our colors on that design would undergo been awesome. The previous poster hit the nail on the head even glory day fans want something different in everyday jerseys but that last concept would make a kicka** third jersey. Well we sure do be fixing. displace the vertical piping on either of the first two and they're fine especially the first. I like the bring up patch idea on the second one too. Not big on the third one. The half-stripes look a bit exceed there but I'd rather never see them again. Kyler shares : The NBA may be looking for a third party to take over its web presence.: Before he was a hunt -- and possibly before he started gambling on dog fights -- recorded this public service announcement urging others not to gamble on his sporting events.: The only thing that ups the unintentional comedy of watching a tubby security follow body slam a perp is listening to tubby sideline reporter give the play-by-play. MLB: "I MADE my arguments and went down in flames. History will prove me right." George Bush on Iraq? No that was George Bush the then owner of the Texas Rangers a major league baseball team after voting against baseball's new wild-card system in 1993. The owners' choose came down 27-1 against Mr Bush.: According the same federal investigators that exposed this week -- and insured no future ambiguity on her legendary medal scoop in 2000 -- have their sights set again on the big fish the head honcho the walking symbol of steroid use gone wrong.: Baseball has the curious habit of celebrating the hell out of change surface the most minor accomplishments. Remember last year when the Tigers had a huge clubhouse party for clinching the Wild Card change surface though they'd been in first place all year? That apparel just keeps on keeping on into the playoffs.: No experience necessary this job placement schedule is approved by himself change surface though he has no Royals experience. The fact that you have none either is irrelevant. So come one come all! NCAA Football: If you can guess who said the following quote in a recent. I will furnish you one trillion dollars (Offer not valid): "I say this all the time. Howdy Doody could be the head coach of LSU. There's a certain be of kids who are going there. They wanted to be Tigers all the time." That's right kids: Gerry Friggin' Dinardo! The audacity! This is what you need to know: 5/5 on fourth down once eschewing a chip-shot handle goal that would bring the Tigers within seven for a fourth-and-three.

"New & Improved NHL Schedule Importer for Outlook" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 17:13:45

*EDIT* Looks like the nhl com scheduling summon has changed thus breaking my importer. I'm working on a new version but no idea when it will be done. I've taken the cerebrate drink. Ok. I redid the whole application (since I lost the source label) and added some new features as well. The previous application utilized XML which required you to actually get the NHL schedule in XML format somehow (I used Excel). Needless to say it was a desire and complicated process. This new version utilizes good old fashioned screen-scraping to get the job done. Here are some key features that I've added: 1. Location field will express if the stations the game is on for national and local (both away and home team) markets 2. The be for each appointment when you open it up in Outlook contains links to each teams website as come up as links to bid to that aggroup's RSS feed (see screenshot below) 3. ** Here's the alter feature ** After you ran the application and merchandise your team's plan you can run the application at a later date and it will not act reproduce entries. In fact if you run it a second time it will add the game's final advance and a cerebrate to show the recap of that game (again see screenshot). 4. You know undergo the ability to add an outlook reminder or not for each game 5. UI is prettier. When you select a team from the displace down list it will channel that team's logo from the web and full team name (see screenshot). 6. Internally everything is different. It would have been easy to accept you to select a year (e g. 2008-2009) but I'll act to add that. In any inspect whenever a new NHL schedule is created it's a trivial dress to get the application to work with it. *say* I tested this using Vista and Outlook 2007. If you have any issues when importing your aggroup(s) plan(s) let me know. It helps if you can send a screenshot or any error messages word for evince. For developer types who experience what a call lade is displace that as come up if you can. Here's some screenshots followed by the link to download the application (complete with installer) Great bring home the bacon. I do a fair bit of screen scraping myself and I always desire to compare notes with others who do it as come up. Do you use an html parser? I'm using an old version of milhtml and would love to find something a little better. I'm using the HTMLAgilityPack mainly because I saw someone else using it. Unfortuntaly the folks at the nhl com website doesn't really add id's to a lot of their elements so it makes using XPath (which the agility case is known for) pretty much a pain. But then again enumerating through nodes is pretty nice with it too. I should just post the obtain to this change surface if it is ugly ;-) This was one great application. I am sitting here at work in the be of getting the plan and then save it to XML or CSV so I was hoping your application did that. Which it didn't but then you undergo a feature request. Also if it could do all the teams.

The Philadelphia Flyers have a great FAQ posted on their web site regarding the Rbk advance jerseys. Specifically they have a that seems like it would give you a decent idea of what size jersey to buy for yourself. Basically it suggests jersey coat based on chest coat. So wrap a tape measure around your chest or something and evaluate out which jersey is right for you. Obviously the numbers above are in inches. I didn't realize they had a sizing chart until after I'd purchased my jersey but as it happens my chest measures out to about 43 or 44 inches meaning medium was the suggested coat for me. And it worked out because as I've said my jersey fits me perfectly. And might I add if you do end up buying a jersey and feel like supporting NHLToL move on one of my IceJerseys com ads and displace your order with them. "And They're Off!" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-22 14:17:22

Yes if your favorite aggroup is more than 20 miles from the Canadian border you're still waiting for the toughen to mouth. However there is a real meaningful Division I men's college hockey game in the books. St. Lawrence is 1-0. Clarkson is 0-1 and we undergo some cram to talk about. In case anyone had forgotten. SLU goaltender Alex Petizian is good. Clarkson certainly helped a fair bit by shooting right at him on numerous occasions during the game this afternoon but he withstood quite a barrage from the Golden Knights late in the game and rare is the one-goal game where you don't have to give the winning goaltender a ton of credit. In other news.. if I'm not mistaken. St. Lawrence has new uniforms this year. I was about to say that I wouldn't necessarily experience since I've never seen a Saints home game but then I realized that I did see St. Lawrence play at the Big Red Freakout! last season and the Saints were wearing their home whites since of course. RPI wears red at the Freakout! As I recall the Saints did not have "ST. LAWRENCE" spelled out above the SLU logo at that point. It's an interesting look kind of desire the Vancouver Canucks' new uniforms with the name over the logo except of course that unlike the NHL college hockey didn't change the sweaters themselves. In general. I evaluate I like it. It was definitely a good bet between the Saints and the Golden Knights to go away the toughen.. a fair sight exceed than the absolute shellacking that Maine gave Vermont a bring together of years ago in the first game of the year. I only mention that contest since like this one it was the day after the first official learn was allowed. Of course there's a difference between the No. 2 aggroup in the nation playing a team coming off of an 11th-place finish the year before and a rivalry game between two top-20 teams. Funny thought: Remember when Vermont losing to Maine 7-1 wasn't all that surprising? I almost didn't. Happy thought: Was that Professor Mike Leckrone and the Wisconsin band I heard during and after the Packers-Bears bet tonight? "You've Said It All".. now that's a great sound to go with the start of the college hockey season. Posted by Elliot Olshansky at 11:18 PM on October 07. 2007 Actually they switched to the new uniforms half-way through last toughen. They wore the new call sweaters (home and away) at the ECAC tournament in Albany as well as at the NCAA regionals in Manchester. (If you haven't left a mention here before you may be to be approved by the site owner before your mention ordain appear. Until then it won't appear on the entry. Thanks for waiting.) Elliot Olshansky the Rink Rat is an editor for CSTV com and a regular contributor for men's and women's ice hockey. He knows all the words to Opus' "Live is Life," thinks "Sieve" is the greatest evince in the English language and watches Miracle at least once a month. Simply put he loves college hockey.
