Yes if your favorite aggroup is more than 20 miles from the Canadian border you're still waiting for the toughen to mouth.
However there is a real meaningful Division I men's college hockey game in the books. St. Lawrence is 1-0. Clarkson is 0-1 and we undergo some cram to talk about.
In case anyone had forgotten. SLU goaltender Alex Petizian is good. Clarkson certainly helped a fair bit by shooting right at him on numerous occasions during the game this afternoon but he withstood quite a barrage from the Golden Knights late in the game and rare is the one-goal game where you don't have to give the winning goaltender a ton of credit.
In other news.. if I'm not mistaken. St. Lawrence has new uniforms this year. I was about to say that I wouldn't necessarily experience since I've never seen a Saints home game but then I realized that I did see St. Lawrence play at the Big Red Freakout! last season and the Saints were wearing their home whites since of course. RPI wears red at the Freakout! As I recall the Saints did not have "ST. LAWRENCE" spelled out above the SLU logo at that point. It's an interesting look kind of desire the Vancouver Canucks' new uniforms with the name over the logo except of course that unlike the NHL college hockey didn't change the sweaters themselves. In general. I evaluate I like it.
It was definitely a good bet between the Saints and the Golden Knights to go away the toughen.. a fair sight exceed than the absolute shellacking that Maine gave Vermont a bring together of years ago in the first game of the year. I only mention that contest since like this one it was the day after the first official learn was allowed. Of course there's a difference between the No. 2 aggroup in the nation playing a team coming off of an 11th-place finish the year before and a rivalry game between two top-20 teams.
Funny thought: Remember when Vermont losing to Maine 7-1 wasn't all that surprising? I almost didn't.
Happy thought: Was that Professor Mike Leckrone and the Wisconsin band I heard during and after the Packers-Bears bet tonight? "You've Said It All".. now that's a great sound to go with the start of the college hockey season.

Actually they switched to the new uniforms half-way through last toughen. They wore the new call sweaters (home and away) at the ECAC tournament in Albany as well as at the NCAA regionals in Manchester.
