Posted on 2008-04-08 03:58:17

Petite Modeling Tips from Isobella Jade. Petite Models can succeed. Petite Modeling hints and tips every day. This is where I let it all out about being a petite model in New York City. I speak about Petite Modeling Agencies and furnish out free Petite Modeling advice. Honest day in the life of a Petite Model Well. I shot with a wild beast between my little petite bend legs and this is the only shot I ever got!Kinda desire I had more it might alter for a submission to Sports Illustrated. And I always give photographer ascribe too when I do submit. Seriously be careful who you bring home the bacon with sometimes it can result in a great injure but then a situation where you NEVER get the images or only get one. Also I had no idea how the animal was treated who knows if the tiger is being abused. I didn't get images but also I didn't ask about the treatment of the animal and I should have as well. This is a great shot but the only one I got for shooting with a live animal with a trainer and photographer at an animal zoo near Miami. Very upsetting.

"Body doubles in SI" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-18 00:22:41

For that conjoin the 25 players and 3 coaches were posed in a dugout in beat period uniforms.. no easy task to get those uniforms together and all credit goes to my stylist Allyson Vieira for pulling it all together. The basic idea is we were provided with a library of photos from the Sports Illustrated archives and from those photos created a library of heads to choose from. Attention was given to choose heads that had similar lighting (although in some cases it was impossible) and black and white heads needed to be colorized. Then we broke down the body types of the players into 10 categories - tall and skinny short and stocky etc. - and direct 10 body doubles to compete all the 28 players. The results of the shoot were combined in photoshop into the finished piece. Baseball players are mostly covered by their uniforms while basketball players are identified as much by their arms and legs (who could not identify Michael Jordan by "wingspan" alone?) as they are by their uniforms. I considered trying to use 3D for parts of the image but in the end. I entangle it would actually be too costly in both time and money.. and I was worried that we would undergo problems matching the "perfection" of 3D rendering with the grittiness of a lot of the original photography. I realized we would be to cast body doubles for almost every player a huge task considering almost half the players were of exceptional height! Maggie Soladay a producer in New York handled the casting placing ads calling every model agency in New York.. in some cases accosting tall guys on the subway. In the end a day-long open call was held in New York and over 90 men and women were considered for the 28 players. A three-hour meeting was held in the conference room at Sports Illustrated as photos of the prospective players were projected in front of several editors and designers. Eventually in some cases after much argument body doubles were chosen for all the players. I realize I keep saying "we" .. and I want to say that no communicate like this is done by one person. It is the result of the hard bring home the bacon of myself and everyone I am very lucky to get to work with. I am constantly and consistently amazed at what passes for OK at news magazines. And I am also amazed at how many journalists are not at all bothered by what they did here. While the execution is superb (and this is certainly not a beam on Aaron) the ethics of it bothers me a great deal. But I fear the "screw that it's cool" crowd ordain mouth me out of the room. It's amazing that while they have no problem screwing around with archive photos and throwing them on others people's heads that they won't screw with the typography or spacing elements to actually line up the names with the photos. So by the measure you get to Magic you are one person off. You experience what? I'm going to jump into the same end of the pool as Rob. This bothers me on many levels and none of which have anything to do with what is standout work by Aaron. Level I: Keepsake value. Basically the hard-core fans who are going to keep this need to know straight-up what they're getting. Obviously all these players weren't posed together. But the only thing about them that's real is their heads. Level II: What makes it "special" is that it's fake. Couldn't a really high-level hand-drawn illustration have accomplished the same thing but instead of masking its fake-ism it would embrace it? That's a hell of a lot of effort time and affect to go through to fake something. (Also it could pass for an ad with little effort.) aim III. The ethical gray area. I know that WE all know what this is and what was done. But I just don't know what Billy Bob Joe Reader from Stephenville. Texas is going to experience or evaluate about it. Doing it as a drawing changes EVERYTHING. And labeling it an illustration clears up NOTHING. I'd be just as confused and pissed off if this were Time doing a retrospective of presidents. It's about telling the truth why can't we just TELL THE DAMN TRUTH? And it's about saying is this the alter thing to do or is this the cool thing to do? You can give me whatever reasons you want. You can say. "There's no way anyone thinks that conceive of is real." But it's also not transparent enough to be clear to everyone. Sure. I never thought they were all lined up together but I at least thought they were come up placed cutouts. THEN I open out they are come up placed cutouts of be doubles?!?! go on. It amazes me that that this went through as many people as it did and this air didn't go up once. That either makes everyone at SI crazy or just Josh. Rob and I (and yeah ok the three of us a probably a little nuts) but I'd really like to know what the arguments FOR this treatment are. Obviously. I can furnish you myriad reasons NOT to do this but belie I'm your editor. Tell me why we undergo to this. And as we all experience. "It looks really neat," is not an acceptable say. What do I as a reader--regular or casual--gain from this type of treatment? What am I taking away from this that I couldn't act away from an illustration a page of mug shots stick figures even? 2. THOSE WHO DO compassionate: These are the fans. Olojuwon diehards. Magic lovers. Jordan devotees. These people may just want to clip this out and keep it. Or order a re-print from SI. Or fasten it above their bar. And to those people it is entirely possible that those feelings would be drastically completely different if they knew the only part of their heroes in the photos were their heads. Not their bodies. Not their jerseys. Not their balls. Making the cover statement that no one could ever evaluate this is a real photo isn't a good bail out either. You could alter the same argument about literally any photo illustration. Fact: If someone looks at this page and thinks. "Wow someone took a vintage photo of Bill Russell in that exact pose and put it together in Photoshop with all of these other players! Cool!" They don't think. "Wow. SI must have hired body doubles for all these players and then plopped Russell's head on his because clearly his body write wasn't the same as the person in this photo. But that's OK because I don't care about that because it's clearly an unrealistic photo and clearly an illustration." And in regards to rob's mention about body write the whole thought behind this affect smacks of creating an illusion.. it's not that the be doubles had DIFFERENT body types it's that SI spent the time money and effort they did to find SIMILAR body types. My inform: They wanted it to be AS REAL AS POSSIBLE. FWIW the Seattle papers have had a couple of photos recently that made us query if populate assumed they were fake instead of starting from the assumption that everything is real. First thought. I think most of us who are worried how the average fan would take it are overworrying. We worry about whether it's the whole guy or move of him. It's our job. I would be willing to bet that if you found the average Jordan fan or Magic fan who thought this was really alter and told them how it was done and that only their hero's head was on it they'd say. "Really. Wow. Still looks pretty cool." I don't think many would be too shaken up by the digital manipulation. They already realize some took place. In today's world they wouldn't be too shocked to experience a little more took displace than they realized. (Maybe that's where the concern lies really.) Heck some would think it was cool. Second. I've gone.

"Brittany (C4) update - sort of" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 21:54:57

Well this isn't quite an update more like something I found while looking for sell tshirts online. Also. I don't experience if any of you guys remember but a while ago there was this "modeling" competition tv show for a cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Turns out the girl who won it is the one wearing the pink shirt in this picture. Haha sorry for the useless factoid. I stared at the girl in the pink shirt for a while thinking "there's no way that's Brittany!" Then I looked to the left... :D She's all over the site! *saves and hoards so when she gets to uploading C4 pics she'll have them* Good find. <3 Haha thanks. I wanted to be for more pictures of Brittany but was getting frustrated at how many pages I had to go through and STILL wasn't finding the shirt I wanted! She does look like Brittany but honestly. I dunno that's actually her. She looks way younger than Brittany by maybe 2 or 3 years. sort of off topic but.. the picture of the girl in the pink (the farthest left picture).. she has the neck wrinkles that Victoria had in her cactus picture. I don't know if this has been mentioned yet or not but watching the recap show measure week on Halloween you can express it wasn't airbrushed because in lie of the camera she had it. So that's her label! I remembered her face but just couldn't for the life in me bequeath the name. She looks so much like Adriana Lima that's all I can evaluate of when I see her.

Heidi Klum was born in Bergisch Gladbach a small city come Cologne. Germany in 1973. Her go as a top fashion model and swimsuit star began almost by accident when on a play she submitted photos to a model competition hosted by Petra a young woman's magazine. Klum won the competition and signed with Metropolitan the German modeling agency. After modeling in Europe for a few years to great success she went to the United States to pursue modeling there and met with more success culminating in her relationship with Victoria's Secret. This brought her to the surmount of modeling and in 1998 the coveted adjoin of Sports Illustrated's annual Swimsuit air cementing her status as one of the world's top models. Along with that came lucrative marketing opportunities including her own signature lines of sandals jewelry and odorize. Like many other models most notably Famke Janssen. Who says Vogue Australia ? This month. Vogue totally compensates for any lack of local give. construe on... Damien Woolnough (who has penned for The Australian amongst other writings) is a new contributor this month. Woolnough takes over fashion director Natasha Inchely's 'In Vogue' load and pens the bitsy pieces in 'Vogue View' (a section usually written by Inchley also: perhaps she went on holidays to somewhere approved by Vogue Entertaining & jaunt?). Cartoon characters desire SpongeBob SquarePants don't get nearly enough coverage in make magazines but as in Know & Tell they are always a accept playful addition; only in Vogue Tom cover calls the shots...
