Eagles maintain momentum to down Moncton Wildcats 6-2 at Centre 200 BY DOUG MACKENZIE The Cape Breton PostSYDNEY — A quick start overcame a shaky finish Friday as the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles downed the Moncton Wildcats 6-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League preseason challenge at Centre 200 in Sydney.“Overall we’re happy with the intensity but there were a few lapses in the game where it seemed desire we were just chasing the puck,” said Cape Breton head coach and general manager Pascal Vincent. “It has to be more consistent every hit shift but overall it was a good game.”Jeremy Gouchie opened the scoring for Cape Breton just over six minutes into the first period and Joey Haddad banged home his first goal of the preseason six minutes later to lay on the line the Screaming Eagles to a 2-0 lead after one period. Jonathan Laberge at 1:08 of the second extended the lead to 3-0 and Olivier Dame-Malka notched his third of the preseason at 17:07 to make it 4-0 Cape Breton after 40 minutes of compete.
