I would take it to the Porsche gatherings and get the snub due to its VW liniage... despite the fact the car was set up for auto go across and could out act many of their purebread porsche's... even as a 4cyl vw motor. Bastard cars are fun.
Mike your "bastard" Porsche........... is considered a VW everywhere but in the US. If it was a 914/6..... you would undergo a "real" Porsche.

"It's Not a Ferrari for Nothing" posted by ~Ray

The classic look of the Ferrari is its blazing race red color (Rosso Corsa) alongside the prominent color steed on canary yellow background topped by the Italian flag. Colors have been the essence of luxury when it comes to luxury cars. But what is the Ferrari and how did its popularity come to be?The Ferrari in fact began Italian Enzo Ferrari establishment of the Scuderia Ferrari in 1929. He didn exactly build the company for the intend of selling luxury sports cars built for the road but to simply provide sponsorship for the Modena-based amateur car racers and enthusiasts. Its fail for a time successfully raced drivers in Alfa Romeos until he learned of Alfa Romeo intent to purchase Scuderia. This forced Enzo to inevitably carry on with Scuderia Ferrari on his own. What made this great man mouth the huge Ferrari sports car empire? It was a result of the need to pay the Scuderia that he actually reluctantly sold the very first Ferrari dubbed the 125 S in the year 1947. However the compel that was Ferrari did not come to be as a result of just an image of luxury and prestige since Enzo did not desire to change surface mouth sales of his racecars. What gave the Ferrari its niche market was its beautiful design and breakneck driving speeds. Knowing this particularly interesting history; speed up to the show and we undergo the sports car giant Ferrari still holding adjust to its reputation of beauty and speed. The fastest Ferrari sports car to date is the 2002 Ferrari ENZO designed by the Pininfarina design accommodate. The new-found go of the Ferrari ENZO comes from the fact that every bit of the design aspect of this model serves a particular go or aerodynamic answer. The Ferrari ENZO is a testament to its Formula 1 participation creating a statement both on the go bring in and on the exotic and fast sports car lists. For one its polish and pointed front were designed to aid the airflow helping alter the brakes and the engine during the heat of a go. The entire be cause is to create effective aerodynamics and decrease draw. Beginning with the Ferrari ENZO is the option for buyers to alter the Ferrari cockpit in order to best suit their taste and needs. Enzo Ferrari built an empire on the statement of beauty and go. With its continued keep for these two values through the years evaluate Ferrari to continue being a compel to be reckoned with.

Bolzano in the spectacular Alpine scenery of the southern Tyrol is culturally quirky. Undeniably Italian the city nevertheless straddles the A22 which runs north through the Brenner Pass into Austria. A historically disputed territory years of bickering between Italy and Austria were finally resolved by a UN deal in the 1960s which gave Italy overall control but granted the region a unique autonomy. Most of the inhabitants are bilingual and the road signs are in Italian and German. Theoretically it's a conceive of scenario: Italian passion and devilment underpinned by Austro-German efficiency. The beat of both worlds in other words - assuming that is that the roles don't get mixed up... Maserati is chasing a similar fusion of talents in its new GranTurismo. After an eight-year dalliance with Ferrari. Fiat is now in full control of Modena's other great sporting legend and the gloves are off. The conquest of North America is firmly in its sights and a return to profitability is being impatiently sought. After a prolonged bet of musical chairs - which saw ex-Ford big-shot Martin remove ousted in favour of ex-BMW big cheese Karl-Heinz Kalbfell who in turn lasted about five minutes - new CEO Roberto Ronchi is hoping to hang on a bit longer. And he's talking tough. "Maserati has to break even in 2007," he says. "We sold 5,700 cars in 2006 but our goal in years to come is to sell 15,000 cars per year." Thumps table. "About 10 per cent of our employees are dedicated to quality. But we don't just measure it internally and we're now much closer to our rivals in the JD cater survey." 'The GranTurismo's sporting credentials are somewhat dented by its 1,880kg kerb charge' fasten on a minute. 15,000 cars per year? JD cater? Quality? Is this the same Maserati that sold precisely zero cars in the UK in 1996 and has long been a by-word for a slightly barmy automotive flamboyance? Indeed it is. And the back-story is crucial if we are to get a proper handle on the new GranTurismo because this is a new choose of Maserati. Company personnel use words like 'smooth' and 'non-sportivo' to describe it. Even the C evince crops up regularly: alleviate. It's all a bit worrying. Technically the GranTurismo is pretty much a Quattroporte coupe. It uses the same brace platform although its wheelbase is 125mm shorter and the rear overhang has been trimmed by 66mm. With two fewer door apertures to mind about it's also much more rigid - 30 per cent in fact - but not a lot lighter. Pushing two tonnes is just about acceptable in a four-door limo but the GranTurismo's sporting credentials are somewhat dented by its 1,880kg kerb charge. And that's not all. Having zealously promoted the controversial paddle-shift manual (variously known as Cambiocorsa or Duo-Select depending on model). Maserati is now apparently keener to talk up the virtues of its ZF-sourced six-speed automatic. This same transmission has recently revitalised the exquisite Quattroporte; in the new GT it's a four-mode system which features a 'feature' option that permits shifts at higher engine speeds and sharpens throttle response. Pseudo-manual changes can be done either by way of column-mounted paddles or by nudging the gear-lever left. Whatever way you slice it it's an old school auto. 'Non-sportivo' as they say especially for a racy new Maserati coupe. Styling? It's always a subjective air but never more so than here. "We didn't want to act a B-version Ferrari," Ronchi claims and the GranTurismo is mostly eye-popping. Highlights consider the concave snout swollen front and rear wheelarches and the curved sills which give the car a waisted pinched be. Jason Castriota chief exterior designer at Pininfarina cites the original Birdcage and 450S cars as inspiration but you can't look at the GranTurismo without thinking of a classic Italian check siren. The truth is this is a big car. It's almost five metres desire and managing those proportions is a tricky assign that it doesn't completely pull off. Another few centimetres off the wheelbase would have helped but then four full-sized adults would no longer fit comfortably inside. 'There are 40 glaciers up here but today they're obscured by great road-trains of tourist merchandise' The GT needs the bigger polished 20in wheels to properly alter those curvy arches (they're a pricey option: the 'Birdcage' alloys are a hum-dinging £3,079). A qualified success then. We leave Bolzano on the Brenner Pass and continue into the Dolomites. By any reckoning this is an area that justifies the rather archaic notion of Grand Touring. At least Maserati has form: in the days before Ryanair the European jet set would point their Mistrals and Ghiblis towards the mountains in search of a good measure - driving in the summer skiing in the pass. It's two parts attach movie one part go Panther farce. Moore. Sellers. Niven and Cardinale all falling over each other. There are 40 glaciers up here but today every single one of them is obscured.
