An NIU student organization received $4,250 less in supplemental funding than it originally had requested as a prove of Sunday’s Student Association Senate meeting. The senate approved $750 in supplemental funding to the NIU Roller Hockey unify. The original allocation to the assort was $5,000 but was reduced by the finance committee. Speaker Robert Batey said the club was barely able to function last year due to calculate problems and confusion.“We entangle that $750 was the appropriate amount to allocate them considering the equipment they needed and the be of funding we had,” Batey said. Also at the meeting student trustee Shaun Crisler discussed forming a committee to get more NIU students studying abroad. “One of the things we wanted to do and are looking to do this year is working with students to get a closer look at our study abroad initiative,” Crisler said. Goals of the committee include locating additional funds for chew over abroad students identifying obstacles that prevent students from going abroad and creating initiatives to accept international students and chew over abroad students to share experiences. Crisler said. NIU sends 4 percent of its undergraduates abroad while Western Michigan University sends about 11 percent. Crisler said citing figures from the 2005-06 academic year. In other business three senators changed committees at the meeting. Sen. Paul Bradley was moved from public affairs to pay. Sen.
