The goals kept coming for the Huskies in the first period with captain Jaclyn Hawkins put one in from the color line less than one minute after Chaisson.
Perhaps the goal that sent the biggest message was the last one of the period when Dominique Thibault blasted a shot by deal's goalkeeper Lindsey Martin who did not react until the puck was already in the net.
Although they jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first period the huskies did not score in the back up period and only mustered five shots on goal.

What shots the Huskies did furnish were quickly stopped by a combination of Brittany Wilson and Jennie Bellonio. The one goal that did get by made its way past Bellonio through a displace in lie of the goal.
Even though the Hawks are admittedly not equal to the competition the Huskies will face in the coming weeks a be of positives came out of the victory.
"We learned a lot about our team chemistry today," Lindstad said. "We had good communication puck movement and we took a lot of shots."
The fact they were playing against a different team regardless of aim of competition is comfort more helpful than scrimmaging against your own team according to Linstad.
"Even if we're playing good defense against ourselves it does us no good because we experience what's coming." Lindstad.
This weekend's game also showcased one thing that the Huskies did not have last year depth with five different players scoring goals. Also adding to the depth is the emergence of young talent like Chaisson.
"I'd like to act some opportunities by adding to the depth of the team so that we can have a four line attack," Chaisson said.
From here UConn will receive a true test of how good they really are next weekend when Ohio express comes to Storrs for two games. Last season the Buckeyes took two from the Huskies in Ohio.
After next pass it will be clear how UConn stacks up against some of the beat in the country.
