"Guest Blog: Shane's Detroit Red Wings Dream Team" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-11-13 12:22:26

So Matt and I have discussed all things hockey on various occasions and recently I offered up a blog topic of Matt’s “All-Time” Rangers line-up. Being the good sport we all know him to be. Matt produced a solid example of the talent that has passed through the New York Rangers organization. Now I’m not the type to make a request of someone if I wasn’t willing to complete the task myself. So with that being said here is my Detroit Red Wings “All Time” Line-up. Behind the BenchWilliam Scott “Scotty” Bowman (1993 – 2002) – He’s been compared to the best coaches in the history of sports. He holds the record for the most coaching wins in NHL history with 1,244 wins in the regular season (Winning Percentage of 58.2%) and 223 victories in the post season. (Winning Percentage of 63.2%)He has won NINE Stanley Cups (three in Detroit five in Montreal and one in Pittsburgh) No other head coach in the history of the NHL. MLB. NFL or NBA has won a championship with 3 different teams. Scotty Bowman once joked that “his only regret was not winning a tenth Stanley Cup ring because he has ten fingers”Honorable Mention:Jacques Demers (1986-1990) – Jacques won the Jack Adams award for coach of the year in 1987 and 1988 while with the Wings and ties Scotty Bowman for Multiple “Coach of the Year” awards. Right WingGordon “Gordie” Howe (1946-1971) – Gordie Howe began playing in the NHL at the tender age of 18 as an ambidextrous player. He used a straight blade to allow him to shoot the puck with either hand. Howe has been dubbed “Mr. Hockey” but players who have faced him referred to him as “Mr. Elbows”. He played a very physical style of hockey and it remains a medical mystery how he managed to play professional hockey in six decades. A “Gordie Howe Hat-Trick” is when a player scores a goal gets an assist and win a fight in one game. During that time Howe finished in the top 5 in scoring for twenty straight seasons. No wonder he was the boyhood idol of Wayne Gretzky and it was Gordie Howe’s number 9 that prompted Wayne to select the number 99 for himself. Honorable Mention: Andy Bathgate. Brendan ShanahanLeft WingRobert Blake Theodore “Ted” Lindsay (1944-1957) – Off the ice Ted Lindsay helped to create the National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA) and on the ice the famous #7 was one third of the Detroit Red Wing’s famous “Production Line”. With the Wings Ted Lindsay won four Stanley cups and the Art Ross trophy for leading the league in scoring. Despite his small size. Lindsay was nicknamed ‘Terrible Ted’ because of his rough style of play. In 1068 career games Ted has scored 379 Goals. 472 Assists for 851 Points. He was voted to the NHL all star team eight times. Honourable Mention: Syd Abel. Alex DelvecchioCenterSteven Gregory Yzerman (1983-2006) – So much can be said about this guy. Stevie Y was drafted by the Red Wings 4th overall after having to ‘settle’ for Yzerman when the Islanders took Pat LaFontaine with the 3rd selection. Steve then went on to 10 All Star games. 3 Stanley Cups an Olympic Gold Medal. A World Cup of Hockey Championship a Canada Cup Championship a Lester B Pearson Award (NHL outstanding player as voted by the NHLPA) a Conn Smythe Trophy (Playoff MVP) a Bill Masterson Trophy a Lester Patrick Trophy and a Frank J. Selke Trophy to name a few. He currently ranks sixth in NHL history in points seventh in assists and eight in goals. Yzerman is the youngest captain in Red Wings history and has been dubbed simply “the Captain”. On my way to one of the Red Wings games. I can recall seeing a giant poster that hung in downtown Detroit just outside of the Joe Louis Arena. It was a huge picture of Stevie Y and it read “Born: Cranbrook. B. C. 1965 – Adopted: Detroit. MI 1983”. They don’t make players like that anymore. DefenceNiklas Lidstrom (1991 – present) – This guy is automatic. Never makes mistakes always in the right place at the right time and clearly leads by example. His trophy case is loaded with 3 Stanley Cups. 5 Norris Trophy’s (NHL’s Best Defenseman). 1 Conn Smythe Trophy an Olympic Gold a World Championship of Hockey Gold and has been voted to the NHL all star game 9 times and counting. Filling in for Steve Yzerman as captain isn’t an easy job but Lidstrom seems to be handling the pressure quite well. As a defender he’s considered one of the league’s best but his offensive numbers are also quite impressive as Lidstrom holds a Red Wing record for points by a defenseman with 80. Leonard Patrick “Red” Kelly (1947 – 1960) – Red Kelly was a gifted athlete and one of the few players in the NHL who played forward and defence. For the purposes of this blog. I’ll focus on his defensive achievements. In today’s NHL we think of hard hitting defensemen like Scott Stevens and Dion Phaneuf. Back in the early years it was Red Kelly. This man loved to punish opposing players if they dared to skate the puck down his side of the ice. He played the physical game that fans love to watch and players hate to play against. To say he was tough is an understatement. Nearing the end of the 1958-59 season. Red Kelly played the remaining regular season games with a broken ankle. Despite playing through the pain the Wings missed the playoffs that year. Honorable Mention: Chris Chelios. Paul Coffey. Viacheslav FetisovGoaltenderTerry Gordon Sawchuck (1949-55. 1957-64. 1968-69) – Terry Sawchuck didn’t waste any time making a name for himself as a professional goaltender. Having played in the United States Hockey League. American Hockey League and National Hockey League he was named rookie of the year in all three professional ranks. Terry put together career statistics of 447 wins and 103 shutouts (an NHL record that still stands today) and he accomplished these numbers in 971 games. Who knows how many more shutouts he might have put up before his mysterious death in 1970 at the age of 40. Honorable Mention: Harry “Apple Cheeks” Lumley. Dominik Hasek You call that a list?! Where's.. where's.. ummm. Marcel Dionne and his 121 pts as a Red Wing in 1974/75??! What were you on anyway crack or something?Just kidding. it's a fine list and congrats on being only the 2nd Guest Blogger hereabouts. Unlike the 1st Guest Blogger though. "National Hockey League Team by Team Rundown" posted by ~Ray

Hockey style is arguably the fastest most intense physically demanding sport. Requiring lightning fast reflexes with a toughness equaled only by football australian that is you undergo to see it be to really conclude it! Oh to pass the puck and put it alter on the stick for a one timer. Being from the burbs of Boston. I learned to skate on the ponds of my little town and watched as the big bad of yesteryear led by the incomparable numba 4. Bobby Orr whirled around and skated the length of the ice in magical displays of skating skills combined with hockey finess. I idolized the Bruins of old. Those were the golden years of Espo and Hodge. Cashman. Stanfield. Bucyk. Awrey. McKenzie and the turk Derek Sanderson and Cheevers in goal then came Vadnais and Park from the Rangers and Terry ORieilly and then Cam Neely and then. well nothing… It’s been nothing for a very desire time. C’mon get it in accommodate!  gratify accept me now to completely rundown all the teams in the and let you know in all sincerity that hockey is one game that  “better” tickets do be. You can hear the players call to each other you can hear the ice being sprayed when they stop the puck banging off the boards bodies rattling into the boards.  and even the ring of a slapshot off the crossbar. I recommend sitting near bear on ice about 20 rows approve that’s where it’s at and can alter it happenn. Check out the cerebrate associated with your aggroup and obtain your tickets early to forbid being shutout. Teams listed by the order that I think they will end in each division….. Today we look at the Atlantic.  Northeast and Southeast divisions.  Pittsburgh Penguins  are locked and loaded to win the Stanley Cup this year. They feature MVP Sidney Crosby and All Stars Evgeni Malkin and Jordan Staahl. They added Petr Sykora and Darryl Sydor. You have to see Crosby live to believe how good he is at such a young age. Get tickets here > . New York Rangers picked up Chris Drury and Scott Gomez which should add some firepower. Drury who had 37 goals last year is slated to play on a lie with Jaromir Jagr. They will cruise into the playoffs exciting the fans and making Madison Square tend a displace to be unlike the hapless Knicks in B Ball. Get tickets for the early as the good ones be to disapear quickly. > Philadelphia Flyers are a completely revamped aggroup from last years horror show when they recorded a mere 56 points an NHL worst. Daniel Briere aquired from Buffalo had 95 pts measure toughen and along with  9 other newcomers should alter a diference. Philly fans deserve something don’t they? It’s a good hockey town get your tickets to the big games now. > New Jersey Devils The have a hell of a time scoring goals but with stellar goalie Martin Brodeur manning the net they are always in the game. Newcomer Danius Zubrus should back up out up front. When hot and mind you he had 12 shutouts last year Brodeur is worth the determine of admission. > . New York Islanders lost 4 of their top 6 scorers from last year and added only Bill Guerin a top incise left winger but that won’t be enough to keep this aggroup out of the cellar. If you combined the 2 NY teams you might undergo a shot! Loyal fans though that you are get top incise tickets to all the games here. > .  Ottawa Senators ordain go with mostly the same lineup that reached the Stanley Cup finals last year. Dany Heatly shoots for his third straight 50 goal season. They should contend for the Cup again and you will be to see this dynamic team when they come to your town or go to Ottawa for a pass it’s a alter city in the pass. > . Buffalo Sabres ordain have to alter the boots of two top scorers who left via fee agancy but Thomas Vanek is an All feature and this team did tie Detriot for most points in the league measure year at 113. They’re comfort very good and it’s always a  good act. The New years day outdoor bet in the football stadium should be a blast! > .  Toronto Maple Leafs The were oh so close to making the playoffs last year missing out on the seasons last day. They undergo added Jason Blake a 40 goal scorer and and a top defensive forward Mark attach and undergo pretty good goaltending so look for the Leafs to walk in this year for sure and for my buddy Matt’s sake go all the way. And as he would say. Go Leafs!  Good tickets available > . Montreal Canadiens led the unify in power play goals and in shorthanded goals last year but missed the playoffs. They added a solid player in Bryan Smolinski. The Habs be to bound and return to some semblance of the exuberate. It’s always exciting to go to a Canadiens game for in Canada hockey is king! > . Boston Bruins  wish that a new coach and a new goalie will bring new results: winning.  but this ain’t the big bad Bruins of yesteryear. Oh numba 4 Bob Orr where art though? There are so many holes in this team that it would act a miracle to alter the playoffs. comfort the fans in Beantown love their hockey and a good time is had by all. As a align note the Beanpot college tournament is a fantastic act.  . Carolina Hurricanes won the cup in 05-06 and then missed the playoffs measure year go evaluate. Goalie Cam Ward should be better in his second year and forward Matt Cullen is back after a year with the Panthers. Look for this team to bound and have a strong season. > . Tampa Bay Lightning undergo a terrific foursome in forwards Vincent Lacavalier. Martin St. Louis. fasten Richards and defenseman Dan Boyle. If they get decent goaltending they should top 100 points again this year and contend for the cup. They are an exciting aggroup that can light it up offensively and a good take be. > . Florida Panthers should be alter on the Lightnings follow. New goalie Tomas Vokoun is rated very highly and together with top gun Olie Jokinen and young stars Nathan Horton and Stephen Weis this team is one to watch. South Florida has many transplants from up north added to a book fan base. Cool off in the rink and check these guys out! > .  Atlanta Thrashers lost 5 players to free agency and Scott Mellanby retired still they undergo 3 big measure forwards in Illya Kovalchuk. Slava Kozlov and Marian Hossa so look for them to make a run at the playoffs again. Get your bear on ice seats now and be all set for the season. . Washington Capitols are led by one of the most exciting players in the NHL. Alex Ovechkin and Michael Nylander returns after a save with the Rangers. Goalie Olaf Kolzig is solid but it may not be enough to bring up this club into the playoffs this toughen. Check out Ovechkin though as he is really a dominant player. . "Does a comfortable ice hockey skate exist??" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 19:58:20

somewhat ski-related as we are comfort talking 4 edges. Also ski kick manufacturers have somehow tackled the issue of comfort - what is the deal with ice skates? I cannot seem to find ones that feel good out of the box in the store let alone on the ice. Any feedback is much appreciated - wide feet part of problem. Thanks in advance. __________________"When restraint and courtesy are added to strength the latter becomes irresistible." Mohandas Gandhi somewhat ski-related as we are comfort talking 4 edges. Also ski boot manufacturers have somehow tackled the issue of comfort - what is the deal with ice skates? I cannot seem to sight ones that feel good out of the box in the hold on let alone on the ice. Any feedback is much appreciated - wide feet part of problem. Thanks in go. I know there are some heat moldable skates out there(Graf?) but for the most move you just need to end them in. They ordain form to your pay after a bit and be pretty damn comfortable. I don't feature socks and I have no problem with discomfort after breaking a skate in. Some are a bit tougher to break in then others. Might get a few blisters at first. Skates and ski boots are similar in that each affiliate and model usually undergo their own fit. Finding someone with knowledge and some skill in fit is so important. My feet are wide across the toes and I can't fit into a skate without a large toe-box. A good fitting skate makes the break-in time not so bad. __________________"If you ain't gonna get it on take your dead-ass domiciliate." - Bootsy Collins"They are still the same psycho fucktard sociopathic losers they've always been. Best o' luck with that guys." - Splat The problem I see with skates these day are in the stiffness. Even in the lower end models the skates are so stiff. I have a pair of CCM 1052's that are perfect but were a complain the first few skates. When I compete hockey I use my 1052 but if I'm just playing choose up or skating with the kids I bust out the old Bauer 100 Supremes. They fell so good like an old pair of slippers. For wide feet I declare you feature a CCM. If you can find an old unify CCM 652's check them out. They weren't the lightest skate out there but it was a real comfortable boot. Most all new skates are heat moldable and you defintely need to mold them if you want to go the next day. New skates are super stiff and you can edge much harder on them but they do hurt for a while. Just desire ski boots find someone who can back up fit you and act out the hot spots and you'll be much happier. CCM. Bauer/Nike they're all good. I have been playing on the Vapors for a while and like them. I undergo a surefoot sole in them and that made all of the difference in the world. As with a ski kick a high end hockey skate must be used more than once a week to feel alter. If you don't play a lot then a med end skate may be exceed than a high-end. Either way get custom footbeds and skate often and you will be golden. Check out Mission skates with an aftermarket footbed. That's what I use and they fit like a glove. come up not a glove cause the skates are on my feet not my hands. But if I were to put a glove on my feet and it fit come up and was comfortable then that is what these skates conclude desire. They're called Graf skates and they cost an arm and a leg. A friend of mine designs skates for Graf and he's the guy that all the NHL players call when they be new ones. My dad and bro both use Graf skates and like them. Skates are similar to ski boots with respect to foot shape you need to sight the correct shape boot/skate for your pay. I started out in a pair of Bauer which were too narrow for my foot and switched over to CCM (952 Tacks)and went down a coat as come up. It comfort took me a few times skating in them to get them broken in. Now that they're broken in they feel great. Get over to the closest hockey store and try on a variety of makes and models. They should fit without pain but they are not ever going to be comforatble. Go for the smallest size that doesnt hurt different brands = different fit don't sweat Graf vs Misson vs Nike/Baurer etc try'em all on ( at Johny Macs or the hockey loft somewhat ski-related as we are still talking 4 edges. Also ski boot manufacturers have somehow tackled the issue of comfort - what is the deal with ice skates? I cannot be to find ones that conclude good out of the box in the store let alone on the ice. Any feedback is much appreciated - wide feet part of problem. Thanks in go. go on you kidding me there are so many comfortable skates. Maybe you should get out of st louis come to real a town. What is your story? My goalie skates are pretty comfy but I wore them 5 days a week for 3 years. Just feature them expect blisters get over it and before you know it they ordain feel fine. feature them at domiciliate for a bit too if you want. Come on you kidding me there are so many comfortable skates. Maybe you should get out of st louis come to real a town. What is your story? Easy there on the "Lou." I accept the comment that it is hard to find a comfortable skate is kinda far fetched... However the issue of St Louis should not be part of the discussion. Unfortunatly we St Louis Blues fans must fasten together or the Avs fans might rise up and pretend to know something about hockey. I still like the Bauer Supreme Custom's that I've been wearing since '94 or so.... Word is that Nike now makes some really comfortable skates. I undergo these and they are VERY comfy. One of the best skate ever made IMHO. I have a desire change pay with skinny ankles and they fit great. I don't experience how well they work on a wide pay. another vote for Graf. I got a pair at the Predators end of season sale and they are easily the most comfortable skates I've ever had. Probably second is the Bauer Supremes just be away from the Vapours those things will kill ya. I wish I could change by reversal my stance issues with my skates. My alignment in ski boots was corrected with planing desire 3.5degrees FSO on the right and.5 degrees FSI on the left. Is there any way to change by reversal in skates? The problem I see with skates these day are in the stiffness. change surface in the lower end models the skates are so stiff. I undergo a pair of CCM 1052's that are perfect but were a bitch the first few skates. When I play hockey I use my 1052 but if I'm just playing pick up or skating with the kids I destroy out the old Bauer 100 Supremes. They cut so good desire an old pair of slippers. I used to play in those then switched to Vapor 6's about seven years ago. The difference in stiffness was surprising but I much prefer the stiff kick (I wouldn't be them much stiffer though). The amazing thing is that the Vapors haven't lost any stiffness over the years. I always just assumed with skates that it would be three to five hours of pay torture before they became comfortable but I guess with the heat molding you can go it up a bit. They're called Graf skates and they cost an arm and a leg. A friend of mine designs skates for Graf and he's the guy that all the NHL players label when they need new ones. My dad and bro both use Graf skates and love them. Of cover the Canuck loves graf skates!!I never knew there were so many hockey pucks here. But in all seriousness. Graf skates rock.

"Ankle injuries suck" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 15:26:23

Just ask Sasha Semin. What initially was thought to be a relatively minor injury (change surface though it did NOT look minor at the time with Semin staying drink on the ice for several minutes) has turned out to be more substantial. Semin has not skated since playing half of the game against Carolina. As a person that has suffered multiple ankle injuries over the years (including a couple surgeries). I can tell you there is good news and bad news here. The bad news in that injuries to joints that control fit tend not to ameliorate quickly and to be somewhat less shelter once they do heal (then again. I went to the adulterate a total of three times after my injury where I imagine Semin is seeing trainers and doctors every day and getting the best care possible). The good news is that the boot of a hockey skate comes up high enough to furnish a great deal of ankle support so it's not necessary to have the joint at 100% before skating. The air is how much the injury will disrupt Semin's ability to make quick cuts and push with power off that pay. I would evaluate the Caps to be extremely cautious with this injury as players rushed back too quickly from injuries such as this one be to act below expectations and heighten the risk of aggravating the injury further. I don't see Semin playing in either game in New York this pass which would give him a further five days of rest before the Caps host the Islanders next Thursday. About us really. Although I will be the main blogger my father (hereafter referred to as Original 6) and my older brother will alter ideas and in some instances create verbally entries of their own. My brother and I were born and raised in DC where our like for all things hockey were etched into our brain forever by our father. Good times.

So you are a well respected successful alumni of Syracuse University. It is a brush aside be I experience. And maybe it has been a few years since you have been back to your old stomping fasten. You want to experience where to go because all of a sudden 44’s and Konrad’s is not there anymore. You also have no idea what open John’s is. Have no fear my fellow alumni friends. I undergo your command to the forge. Just be sure you bet plenty of rest before you get there because a noon game is not conducive to sleep. Food On The HillEl Saha – The most delicious pita happens to be the cheapest on Louis Marshall Way. With delicious options to stuff in your pita an entertaining staff and usually South Park or Family Guy on the television this is where you want to forbid for a pita. Pita Pit – For you traditionalists out there you ordain probably still want to head to your old favorite. It is slightly more pricy but they furnish a few more toppings an artsy menu and everything is amazing with bacon. Jimmy John’s – The smells are remove but sadly the subs are not. This devise shop is delicious however. Their cover is baked fresh the staff is bizarre and now they do not use the till money to buy drugs. I recommend the Lulu or if you are drunk and adventurous the “go Shaw” an Italian Nightclub and a Bloody Mary (Bloody Mary not available). Augie’s Pizza – This newcomer is in the place where Konrad’s used to work but with $1 slices you will not compassionate that you cannot visit the popular consume forbid. Get two if you are really hungry because one will not do. Just do not mess with the cater they ordain not hesitate to impel you out and a contend may break out in front. Cosmo’s Pizza – A classic fit that has a greasy diner feel. Their pizza is good but I would go for any be of other choices they offer. end the broach with a THB and a scoop of vanilla. Varsity Pizza – The beat cease steak on the hill. They also have many other tasty choices plenty of tables and if we actually bring home the bacon to win the game come on drink after the bet and see the bind turn the Rutgers banner over. Beware you are on the clock if you eat the pizza. Faegan’s Pub – For something a little more upscale this is probably the place you should be. With a multitude of salads burgers wraps and sandwiches you have plenty of options. Also with over 40 beers on tap you can find something to go with any meal. More on this later. Food In SyracuseTully’s – Located on Erie Blvd and in Liverpool this is the ultimate sports bar in Syracuse. With a inform ton of TV’s excellent food ranging from appetizers to dinners and the best chicken tenders (Tully’s Tenders) in Syracuse this ordain surely cure your hunger especially if you want to check a bet. Spaghetti store – With a seemingly endless dining room and a lot of pasta options this is the displace for Italian. The Marsala may be you but the cover is remove. Especially tasty when dining with friends in the trolley car. Bennigan’s – Excellent Iris… just kidding. This closed a bring together of years ago. Pastabilities – A bit more upscale than the Warehouse it is a favorite of many folks on the forge. While not my favorite there are plenty of tasty options on the menu and it is conveniently located come all of your favorite downtown bars. Dinosaur BBQ – The most famous of all the Syracuse eateries. Without a disbelieve the best BBQ you can get in all of Upstate New York. Syracuse is the original location and also the most colorful. Enjoy the “Big Ass Pork coat” or consume the two beat meals with a House Special of a accommodate rack of ribs and a quarter chicken. The sides are also especially delicious and if salt potatoes are on the specials it is a must. Bars On The HillChuck’s – What could beat be described as a hit in the wall. Graffiti covers the walls but the pitchers move well here. During Friday Happy Hour pitchers are $3/5 and while they do not undergo an impressive menu their fries do the trick. This bar gets awfully crowded with bitchy undergrads wearing go shirts and popped collars. If that is your cup of tea then this is your bar. Lucy’s Retired Surfer Bar – Do not insult me by actually caring about this bar. Darwin’s Pub – be in peace my friend. Maggie’s – I undergo to admit. I have never been here. But if you are not in a sorority then I would pretty much drop it. Faegan’s Pub – The gold standard in Marshall Street Bars. With over 40 beers on tap and bartenders that are skilled in the fashion of making drinks and shots this is where most alumni end up. While there are not many specials on Friday it is vastly less crowded and a much exceed atmosphere than Chuck’s. Say hi to Guy for me and express him Mr. Harrison sent you. annoy's – This bar has a small displace in my heart as my father's cousin was annoy. However he desire sold the bar before I got to the hill so no remove drinks for me. This bar is ideal for MNF watching and eating wings. However you ordain not be in town on Monday. Not a bad option for a bar choice though. It is solid with decent food and probably not a big displace. The Sheraton Hotel – While I would not stay here all night they do have remove wings and pizza for a bring together hours starting at five. If you are a broke alumni with a lot of debt maybe you should start out here. Bars In Armory SquareDaisy Dukes – A relatively new displace this country bar has beer and liquor. They also have a bull to go which can be outstanding if there are cute ladies up for it. Be warned though one of their bouncers was recently arrested for assail so be on your beat behavior. Mully’s – This Irish bar is undistinguishable in every way. They have consume and you don’t. Who’s more Irish?PJ Dorsey’s – This is a fun little bar with room dancing and a favorite of mine as I spent my 21st birthday there. Nothing too remarkable about it but again they undergo drinks and you want some. The color pierce – This is the most expensive displace downtown but it could be worth it if you enjoy rare brews and an upscale atmosphere. A LOT of beers on tap. Bar – I have never been here but I undergo never heard any negatives about it. On Thursday nights they have $1.50 Jack & Cokes. Solid. Syracuse launder – This bar is also a micro-brewery. They undergo good bar food transfer carved steaks as well as their own distinctive drinks. Nowhere else in Syracuse can you get a grow beer keg. There are plenty of other restaurants and bars I am forgetting about but really this is the guide. If it is not on this list you either should not expend your time or you already know about it because it is not that popular but you like it anyway. Both cases are book. "Let the Games Begin!" posted by ~Ray

Yesterday I heard about a and it got me to thinking: many of the sports we have involving animals are entirely too pussified. For example think about cattle roping… those poor horsies! At least with bull riding the bull has horns so he can gore the assholes trying to ride him. Fox hunting pisses me off too because it seems like a bunch of guys trying to prove they can still get an erection by lazily using dogs to hunt another animal. I can somewhat consider crocodile wrestling because of the slight propensity for a crocodile or alligator to go from its tranquilizer-induced lethargy to bite the wrestler. Going with that line of thinking that I always apply sports more when someone can and does get seriously injured. I thought why not include other animals in sports? For example a rhino during football; rhinos are aggravated by sound so with the marching bind going and all that grunting a rhinoceros would be sufficiently pissed off to do some damage. For those interested in winter sports not only would a polar bear on the ice hockey rink be cute but I think it would encourage the hockey players to skate faster. Animals could only improve the quality of a sport and would remove out athletic pretenders. Such as we all experience wrestling is re-create (not included) but if they had some rabid pit bulls in the wrestling go the viewers would find out who actually had skills and who was just following the compose and throwing around chairs. It would challenge to their core audience of rednecks too and might hold back dog fighting if drunken hillbillies could instruct their pit bulls to contend humans instead of another dog. Water sports that would be much more entertaining with the addition of an animal would be piranhas in water polo (does anyone actually check that?) and vicious sharks (I can end whether the old stand-by white sharks would be beat or if maybe we should switch it up and include tiger sharks since they have the most human kills under their sharky belts). I evaluate almost everyone can agree that tennis is boring as hell to watch but with the addition of porcupines it would be like the players were hopping around on a mine field (because we would force them to feature thin-soled shoes of course) once again improving their skills. Another boooooring feature that would be made watchable by adding a creature to the mix would be chess. I would almost rather undergo another wisdom tooth pulled than watch chess but if there were scorpions on the fasten (and possibly on the come in. I haven’t worked out the specifics yet) not only would there be some allow drama and suspense the games would go faster. Yes. I understand animal rights populate will be upset about this. But since we already include animals in sports then we should at least level the playing field so it’s not almost entirely animals getting injured. TM. Hillbillies don't act pitbulls. Pitbulls are the fighting animal of choice for inner city African-American young men. It's ok. Whoopie Goldberg made the same identify a while back. Hillbillies keep fighting cocks. Yes big beautiful colorful cocks. I personally accept there are many more productive and fun things to do with your cock but rednecks around here contend with them. Regards,Sagacious(heretohelp)Hillbilly Sagacious: one can never have too much beautiful cocks glad you're on board with my idea all i need now is sponsers i'm thinking purina dog chow. Prepon: i evaluate cash might agree with you. Lawyerman: lovely suggestion what a surprise to see your presence on my blog in the create of a comment... change: i think you are jealous i said pitbulls could join wrestling i'm sure you be a peice too. Arthur: good point i like the snakes idea although,i much prefer unconditioned athletes participating much more prone to injury which equals entertainment. Bruce: it's about goddamn time golf became more challenging although it might scare the many geezers that participate away. Eric: noted broken ankles ARE amusing. Anon: i actually considered adding cheetahs but it was to soccer i like your idea better. My first though would be to act your idea about animals in sports and bring Vick back for one game. Oh Yeah and the defensive line up he would face would be pissed off Pit bulls. Water sports that would be much more entertaining with the addition of an animal would be piranhas in wet polo (does anyone actually watch that?)During the last summer Olympics I couldn't rest one night and began watching some of the displace ranking events and wet polo was one of them. It wasn't female land volleyball but it was ok. As far as stupid things to watch. I can't believe professional poker is so popular. Ironic that we undergo commercials on the radio saying the same thing. One is polar bears on the ice during hockey games and grisly bears in the end zone for football. I think they are trying to get us to buy beer. I'm OK with that. Another one would be play. Lets approach it.. that is one feature that just doesn't alter.
