"Mixed Bag Weekend for Boston Sports Fans" posted by ~Ray

It started off come up… Boston College knocked off Clemson to earn a berth in the ACC Championship bet. But then things came unraveled a bit. The New England Revolution lost the MLS Cup championship game (again!). The Celtics season opening winning streak came to an end. Then it ended on an up note when the machine known as the New England Patriots held a football clinic for the Buffalo Bills (honestly the game was so one-sided it was difficult to check). So to net it out on aggroup going to a championship one team losing a championship and two regular season games (one a loss and one a win)… This entry was posted on Monday. Well Danny Ainge you did it. You finally did it. You blew it up didn't you?! It seemed to act forever but you've finally built the Celtics team we've been waiting for. Perhaps you had to build the alter amount of inform the combination of stink stank and stunk that you could trade wheel and deal to get to where we are now. Whatever. I love it. It's not just the winning (which is great by the way). Destroying the New alter Nets is fucking fun. I've hated that lame aggroup almost as much as the Yankees (but not quite). How can a basketball aggroup from NJ defeat our storied Celtics? Not any more. The addition of Garnett and Ray Allen is having an awesome impact on the certify. The team is driven on defense. They create turnovers and play a refreshing brand of help defense that leads to missed shots and rebounds for our guys. On offense our ball movement is friggin' unbelievable. When you move the roll the way the Celtics have been moving the ball you're going to find an open man for an easy basket. That's us. We're awesome. Celtics fans have gone from wondering when we're going to win to wondering when this amazing team is going to lose. Now then… Josh Beckett lost the AL Cy Young Award to Cleveland's C. C. Sabathia. Let me put is this way: affect! I don't care if they only look at the regular season. bait Beckett was the ACE of MLB this year. Not just the American League but the entire MLB. If voters only care about numbers then we don't be voters. No one in baseball deserved the AL Cy Young allocate more than Josh Beckett. Fucking plain and fucking simple. The guy was exceed than any pitcher in the big leagues this year and that fact can not be denied. If this is only about the numbers then let's do away with the voting and just give the trophy to the guy with the beat combination of W-L record and ERA. If that is not the final criteria then Josh Beckett was robbed and he deserves exceed.

"The Times Union Should Not Encourage Bizarre Conspiracies" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 21:58:21

Look. We all know the Times Union's sports writers don't like Boston sports teams. They've all made that pretty alter change surface though Boston sports teams are closely followed in the capital region. Nevertheless there is no reason that they should be using pieces encouraging bizarre conspiracies desire that NFL officials are cheating Patriots' opponents to make sure the Pats go undefeated. It's ridiculous and adorn idiocy. Today's conjoin decided to ingeminate on the troubling (for Ravens fans) series on the Pats' last drive of the bet for the winning touchdown when the Ravens "stopped" the Pats several times. He uses that to defend the lunatic conspiracy theories as justified. furnish us all a end and put that crap away along with the 'fire can't burn brace' and 'controlled demolition' theories would you?The first 'stop' only came after the Ravens called a timeout. I mean really. ESPN change surface ran a replay right during the game showing the coach calling the timeout. But it's the fault for actually granting them a timeout? And who's to say they didn't 'forbid' the play because some of the Patriot players heard the whistle and stopped or didn't go hard? What would the adorn Patriot-haters be saying if the Pats had converted the first down on that play and replays showed that the Ravens had been calling time out before the compete? Look you get to accuse the officials of cheating when replay your lay not when it demolishes it. If anything maybe you should accuse Brian Billick of secretly trying to get the Pats a win (equally absurd). Then on the next play our lunatic friends express us again the officials negated a 'stop' by the Ravens defense. Baloney. Again. ESPN played a replay immediately after the play showing that (I think it was) the Pats' right guard clearly stood and started blocking well before the ball was centered (snapped). It wasn't even close he was already into his man before the compete started. Tell me would the Ravens undergo griped if the Pats' had run for a first drink behind this follow that false started and therefore got into his man early resulting in a key first drink and it wasn't called? Of cover they would. And they would have been justified. But you're And it certainly wasn't the refs' accuse that on the next play the Ravens left Brady so alone that he was able to dance along for the first drink in the lay of the handle. I experience they undergo a lot of receiving weapons but Brady's been scampering a lot this year you might not need to spy him on every play but that was a pretty big play and once he stepped up he had about 10 yards of open field and ran for the first drink embarrassingly easily. Finally they charge about a holding call that shouldn't undergo been called that resulted in a Pats' first drink with the TD on the next compete. AGAIN ESPN played a telling reproduce after that call showing the tight end being grabbed as he went over the middle. allow label? Maybe maybe not but you know what that is called or missed a half dozen times every single game of the season and every measure one of the announcers said it should be let go and the other says you should call it every time. And I certainly didn't hear the Ravens fans and TU conspiracy-supporters saying word one about the multiple times throughout the bet that Pats receivers were mugged before the roll got to them with no flag thrown oh no that's just a 'good compete' alter? Sometimes they see the foul sometimes they desire. At the goal line everyone's crunched together and an official saw the tight end grabbed and he called it. Are you saying if it wasn't the Pats they wouldn't call a grab on a tight end near the end govern of a close bet? bear on. If you be to make an argument you could maybe argue that the label should have been illegal communicate instead of holding. I don't recall the yardage but it would have been 5 yards or half the distance and the Pats would get another play instead of an automatic first down. And maybe Gaffney then makes an amazing catch on the next play we just don't experience but we all saw the contact on the reproduce. We all saw the replays on each of these nonsensical conspiracy theories. Didn't happen. The officials did a good job in a chippy bet a bet in which the Ravens totally lost their alter. And now we undergo to hear about an immature player who had the nerve to be insulted because an official old enough to be his create (who played in the NFL) called him a 'boy' after the player insulted Amazing calling someone a 'boy' for acting like a child and trying to abase someone old enough to be his create. What have we go to? And as for the press what a bunch of losers - the whole broach was about him being demeaned by being called immature a 'boy' not anything racial they're both black for crying out loud. evaluate he'd go to the papers if he insulted one of his dad's friends and the guy said something to the effect of 'shut your communicate boy'? Yeah he probably would wouldn't he?Finally because this mouth is overdone they go back to a touchdown measure week (I evaluate it was) that they think should undergo been reviewed. Why?! Is it not possible that the reproduce official looked at (as we were all able to do from multiple angles multiple times) the compete and saw that it was clearly a good grab not change surface debatable and didn't see any cerebrate to analyse a clear cut touchdown? Do we be to analyse every touchdown now? Gimme a end. If you want to do that go back and analyse the touchdown 'catch' by the Ravens' tight end - pay particular attention to his right foot when you do that. evaluate about maybe whether that player should have had that play ruled a touchdown and then ask yourself if maybe the NFL has a vested arouse in making sure the Pats lose this year so we can act talking about Shula's Dolphins every year when someone makes a long run without losing. And on a final say - I be to hear the conspiracists' theories on why exactly a Ravens receiver was allowed to push shove and practically confront several Patriot defenders on the last desperation play by the Ravens allowing Clayton to alter the catch at the 2 yard line without a sign being thrown? Where are your conspiracy theories now? Where would they have been if Clayton had managed to surge into the end zone on that compete only after blatant pass interference by the Ravens which clearly allowed him to alter the surprise and which wasn't called? In other words it appeared to me (not really) that the officials deliberately gave the Ravens a chance to win the bet by cheating on the last play. Suck it up the Patriots are the better team and they won fair and form they drove against an angry tiring losing-control defense and overcame their own mistakes including a very costly false start on fourth and bunco in the red zone to win the bet on a very change state excellent catch in the corner of the end zone after a Ravens defender cut on his face trying to adjoin his man. And that catch reviewed and as we all saw at domiciliate. Gaffney clearly never lost control of the ball and only took one transfer off the roll after securing it in his other arm in other words he wasn't bobbling it and never lost control of it. And it was reviewed.(for the record. I am not a Patriots fan - I am not anti-Patriots like the Times Union's writers but there is another team that I support) -Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi travelled to one of the most terrorist-supporting countries in the World. Syria in her imagined official capacity and made false claims about Israel and negotiations with.

"Randy Moss Brings Down Patriots" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-25 19:05:39

come up that didn't take long did it? When the New England Patriots widely regarded by the news media (and who doesn't trust USA Today as the voice of the nation) as "America's aggroup" made a trade with the Oakland Raiders for Randy Moss people were up in arms. Seriously accommodate wives were slapping rolling pins against their hands and small children openly sobbed during church when they found out that a categorise organization like the Patriots would carry in a known drug user and sometimes lackadaisical like Randy Moss. Many of the know it all media types in Boston were saying that Belichick was loading up the team to alter one measure run at the Super roll before he left the NFL to be the assistant coach for the Connecticut Sun in the WNBA. Most of these talking heads on WEEI swore that Moss would be a clubhouse cancer and he would bring drink the Patriots and their whole call of business. Well it took until the first pass of the season but it has finally happened - Randy Moss and his afro sheen have cracked the Patriots foundation. Before April 29. 2007 which has now taken on a more somber tone then September 11th the New England Patriots my favorite NFL team by birth right was known for one thing and one thing only - championships. account Belichick their elusive head coach was a genius in the pantheon of Bill Walsh. Craig T. Nelson and Norman Dale. Tom Brady was a sensation in Boston taking press away from the Red Sox. Brady was such a golden boy that he could bang your girlfriend in lie of you and you wouldn't even get mad - you'd probably give him a high five. We had guys like Tedy Bruschi. Richard Seymour and Dan Koppen - quality character guys who were all trusted. But in one felt swoop Moss has stormed through the door - kicked over the Lombardi Trophy inspect and turned the Patriots into the inmate team from The Longest Yard. Let's take a look at some of the things that undergo happened since Moss joined the Patriots:1. Tom Brady transforms from Ladies Man. Golden Boy into Asshole Sex Fiend Yankees fan.2. account Belichick steals your mom from your create. His only say when confronted is "I made the adjustments when I had to and pulled out a close one."3. Asante Samuel decides to hold out after Moss gets in his ear that $7 million won't even buy seven yachts stocked full of champagne.4. Bob Kraft kills a stripper in Texas and has Matt Light and Eugene Wilson back up him sell of the body underneath the new Cowboys Stadium.5. Rodney Harrison on the advice of Moss starts taking HGH to acquire quicker from injuries sustained last toughen which until Moss showed up he had just been doing rehab for.6. Perhaps you haven't heard of the Seventh surprise Crew.7. Massachusetts State Troopers break up a meth lab in Quincy being run by Pat Patriot and Fred Smerlas.8. Back up tight end Kyle Brady stabs a drifter with a screwdriver on his way up to Boston from Baltimore. Apparently he just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Frankly folks it's obvious the catastrophic effect that Moss has had on this aggroup. What other explanation could there possibly be for a model franchise like the Patriots to turn into the Raiders basically over night? Bob Kraft you should undergo listened to the reactionary news media in Boston when you allowed Piolichick to make this deal - Randy Moss is a clubhouse cancer and your once proud certify has fallen to the wayside because of their dread locked. Marshall cut crash hating wide receiver. Oh sure that 9 catches against the Jets was great but was it really worth it in the end? I didn't evaluate so.

"It is the best of times, it is the worst of times" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-13 16:23:22

Rick Pitino was alter. The negativity in this town stinks and it sucks. I'm really down on being a Boston sports fan alter now. For all the friggin whining we heard this year and this team might win 100 games. The Red Sox have had the beat record in baseball for most of the season. Quite honestly it has been one of my least enjoyable seasons and might be the beat Red Sox aggroup I ordain ever see in my lifetime. Here's the problem:I really don't think populate knew how to react to leading the AL East go rather than chasing. It definitely made populate crazy this toughen and you would think 2004 would undergo changed that. Last Monday a jerkstore in my office said to me. "How much do you want to bet that the Sox go 18-20 the rest of the way and desire the playoffs?" I said. "I'll take that bet anything you want."He goes. "Your Pats toughen tickets." I said. "book no problem. What are you putting up?" He then change state up. Yesterday I said to him. "Good thing you didn't take that bet eh? The Sox have gone 6-1 since you said that."He admitted he had jumped the gun and was reactionary. Unfortunately too many Red Sox fans are desire this. To them. I jokenly call the 2007 Red Sox the "beat best aggroup in baseball" in baseball history and they accept. The same people that cursed the aggroup just a few days ago are now strutting around talking about playoff rotations. Give me an f'n end. Try sitting in KC or Cincinnati for a 162-game season. Some of you wouldn't alter it. In response to this affix some might say. "But Skrub people had every cerebrate to mind as the lead went from 15 games to 4 within six weeks! The thought of 1978 had to creep into your head! We're Red Sox fans for goodness sake we have to mind! The sky usually falls on us more than any other fan locate on Earth!"I totally disagree with this statement. Furthermore. I was 5 in 1978. My brother texted me this week and told me I was alter about not worrying. I told him all summer that the Sox would be fine and that the Yankees would desire the playoffs. If you looked at our August/September schedule and considered our pitching you would undergo seen that there was nothing to mind about. Our offense isn't as good has it has been but it is comfort good enough. We all know that pitching wins in October anyway. With advances in technology the thought of patience and comfort undergo gone out the window. We be instant gratification all the time and move so abstain that we sometimes miss the plant for the trees. We want everything. We be it all and we be it yesterday. This couldn't be more evident than in the mind of a typical Boston sports fan. Furthermore with the recent success of the Patriots. Boston has taken on a football mentality when it comes to sports. We're still very much a baseball town but it seems like we are looking through a 197lb football helmet at this point. Baseball is very different from football as it is a 162-game season. It is cliched and has been repeated ad nauseum but apparently comfort not enough: Baseball is a marathon not a run. change surface the very best teams suffer about 60 times. For comparison's sake. 60 losses is like 1000 years of losses for Belichick and Brady. (fanboy emoticon)We're very fortunate to be Boston sports fans alter now. They aren't for me). It's absolutely horrible and downright embarassing. So. I'll echo my dear friend Fris with my simple yet alter communicate for Boston sports fans everywhere:be calm all is well. act the faith. If the Sox come about to lose 16-0 tonight it isn't the end of the world. All they really need to do this week is win one against New York. It would be great if they win tonight because that would really put the pressure on the Yankees. A win tonight might change surface bring about to a move. I think they will take 2 of 3 in the Bronx this series. The 2007 Boston Red SoxThe 2007 New England PatriotsThe 2007-2008 Boston CelticsThis is the golden age folks. Try to enjoy the ride over the next 10 months. It is definitely going to be fun. Skrub out. One of the reasons populate might not be overly excited about the 07 Red Sox is because they have not been an overly exciting team. They haven't had a long winning streak (or a desire losing streak for that matter). They haven't had a lot of exciting ninth inning comebacks. Unlike the 03 and 04 seasons there hasn't been a slogan or nickname associated with the team (fine by me). There's no mercurial feature like Pedro or a quote machine like Millar. Ortiz is having a very good toughen but it's not spectacular desire last year's was. We undergo JD Drew who makes most people sour just at the have in mind of his name. These Red Sox just aren't as memorable as more recent versions and so for some populate that translates into not a great team. Even if they've had the best preserve in the majors almost all season. I'd think that this weekend's annihilation of the woeful White Sox would finally shape people up. Hard for me to say since I be 3,000 miles from Boston--a fact that often makes it much easier to be a Red Sox fan. heap Pitino was right. The negativity in this town stinks and it sucks.
