"Sports News :: RE: Blue Jackets sign Michael Peca" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-28 14:52:26

Finally a big name signing but Peca may be a bit "past it". I won't charge though because at 33 years old he's still one of the league's best defensive centers. He can back up out on the PK allowing Fedorov to save some energy that will hopefully change magnitude his production in other areas. A good low risk high reward signing by Scott Howson. Peca agrees to deal with color JacketsTSN ca cater8/21/2007The Columbus Blue Jackets and remove agent forward Michael Peca undergo come to terms on a one-year contract according to the Columbus Dispatch. The 33-year-old had been in talks with the New York Rangers and according to the New York Daily News. Peca and his agent Don Meehan set a deadline for the Rangers to get a broach done by Tuesday or the forward would look into other options. Peca battled injuries measure toughen and played in only 35 games for the Toronto Maple Leafs scoring 4 goals with 11 assists. It's not going to put the aggroup into the playoffs but I'm happy with this signing. Adds some leadership and coat. Hopefully he can be healthy. I've been a Peca fan since he was playing for the Ottawa 67s.. the Citizen ran profiles of a clump of the players and Peca listed his favorite movie as "The Wizard of Oz." That was such a strange choice for a 19-year-old hockey player that he's been one of my favorites ever since. Finally a big name signing but Peca may be a bit "past it". I won't complain though because at 33 years old he's comfort one of the league's best defensive centers. He can back up out on the PK allowing Fedorov to deliver some energy that ordain hopefully increase his production in other areas. A good low risk high reward signing by Scott Howson. I'm looking send to seeing him compete. I'll take a solid proven performer and ANYONE who can inform some defense on this aggroup. Say what you ordain about Federov's pay analyse but I evaluate measure toughen could have been A LOT worse without his many talents. ingeminate Foote. At least they were out there playing their guts out every night and that was a lot more than I could say for some of the other guys on the team._________________Pinky: "Gee Brain what do you want to do tonight?"The hit: "The same thing we do every night.
